Turn 80 & 81-1/2 updates
Ughhhh
OK, so Zulu Desperados gifted me a clam. I already have a clam, but I accepted. I'm going to assume this is a Good Sign .
Whoop whoop.
Guess who has the Roman graphs.
Demos look alright.
So someone's settling aggressively and messing things up for me. WTF am I going to do about this?
Too bad I don't have any units in that boat.
So.... ugh. CH. I wish I didn't have to deal with you again. Especially since you're doing so much better. Wish I could get vision on his new city. I need to figure out what to do with the Settler coming out of Wendy. I'm considering planting it 1W of the sign that says "city" and chopping out a monument as the first build. Hopefully my monument would finish first so I can at least snatch the horses from CH. That spot can also snag the corn from Wendy and eventually get a couple of lighthouse lakes (I think). So that's probably what I'll do.
I'm too tired to sort this out now. I left the turn unfinished. Will work on a new New plan tomorrow. Wish I didn't have to do this every other day. Wish I could afford to whip like 4 Chariots and go burn a few HRE towns down.

That CH x city looks hard to defend. You can 1-move it at any time.
I have to run.

Oh, for sure. It's just a matter of when. The sooner I go for it, the easier it will be to kill, but now is not a good time to pick a fight, so he'll have time to develop and fortify it.
Also I was on :weed: yesterday. Settling 1W of the "city" sign can't get the corn, I don't know what I was thinking. It could steal sheep from Soos, but I don't think that's a good idea. I'm not really sure what to do with this Settler now. There are other spots I'd rather settle, but they are distant from Wendy and I'd need extra troops to defend them.
Could it be worth building/whipping an extra spear and axe to get that coastal spot north of Pacifica? I dunno. On the other hand, settling a new city north of Wendy might be a wise move anyway. I wouldn't put it past CH to jam his own settler in there some time if I let him, and that could not only lose me the silks, but make it impossible to defend from an attack. Just... where to settle? There's no food for it.

I could also settle where the Warrior is standing. I'd get a plains hill plant (though I'd lose a perfectly good forest) and would get the Horses right away, but it's much more vulnerable from a distance perspective (easily hit by a sudden 2-mover attack). I think 1W of the "city" sign might be best, I'll just have to hurry a monument out.

Working on the new new plan, I just realized that Mabel can potentially grab 8 forests in 2nd ring (would borrow/steal some from other nearby cities). If I could somehow get a city to grab the stone nearby (marble too if possible), I could chop out the Aqueduct and Hanging Gardens there. I'd need Masonry for the Stone and Aqueduct, and I'd have to hope that no one else grabs the HG by then, but when considering where my 1st post-currency Settler goes, that's an option. Too bad there's NO FOOD by the stone and marble, but it would be worth it if I could deny the location to CH.
Going for these means denying chops to those other cities, but only Gideon, the gold city, would really suffer for it. So why not?!

My biggest problem is that my last few towns have basically been shit filler cities that are more a drain on the economy than a help. CH meanwhile is pushing his Imperialistic trait, and is surely going to beeline his 1/2 price Rathauses to pay for it all.
OK, that might not be my BIGGEST problem but I see it as a big problem at least.

The last five turns are going to need some work. I probably should get Masonry first so Mabel can start on the Aqueduct ASAP and I just need to plan better with those workers to get the forests either roaded or pre-chopped. I may even get Aesthetics before IW so Soos can get a shot at the Satue of Zeus.
With that, I'll finish out turn 81 and 82.

Stuff:
How can I settle this? I think I have a decent shot at grabbing some of it, though CH's IMP powered Settlers are no doubt on the march. I think I'll put a city either 1N or 1NW of the Wheat, depending on what's going on over the coast. That would let me get a city 1E of the sheep, so it could share the wheat. If I could also get the "Port Town" spot, then I'll be fairly happy with what I got up there. Though it definitely looks like I'm going to end up with a connected N-S empire, so I'm going to have super long borders to defend.
Interesting, but I can find no evidence that it's a hot war. I'll be keeping an eye on things though. I suppose it's still possible that Johns is trying to send a scout or work boat through HRE territory.
Made contact with Elum. His Galley passed ours. His score is good, but he has a low city count for being Imperialistic. Odd.
I just noticed this. Not the worst thing ever, but I was hoping to plant a city in those hills to plug up the southern pass, and by the time I get a Settler to that nice spot shown earlier, the Zulu will have grabbed one of those clams. I guess I'll settle on the Fort. Weaker city and can't contest the clams, but I want the Zulu as allies so I'll play nice. Assuming I can even still settle down there post Turn 90.
Elum's galley was left behind in the fog, but these are some nice offshore lands. To be perfectly honest, I'm toying with the possibility that I can get them from Korea somehow.
Looks like it doesn't connect by land here, so that might give me a shot at claiming some of this land.
So what am I looking at going forward? I've got Imperialist neighbors who are going to aggressively snap up all the land out here. I am sure I can still get a few nice spots, but only a few. Things are already getting tight. However, I have a big coast line, as much a blessing as a curse. I think my future will be the sea. If I can steadily increase my naval presence, I should be able to settle the nicer islands, with the hope that I can capture some land from the Koreans, especially the GLH.
