WW 34--The Slugfest!

I really don't like Jkaens #160. Bob had specifically said it wasn't argumentation, more a joke, and not one he saw any reason to argue about/get behind, and yet Jkaen still jumps on it aggressively.
I'll have a look at Jkaens other posts to see if there's more content, because that looks like the sort of siezing upon/gut reaction that comes more from a lack of any other contribution/content and wanting to provide some. Ot the other lynchs, Jabbz is the only one I'm really getting, but I'm wary of voting him because of the whole lynch new blood day 1 thing (has he played before? I feel like no, but I jumped ship on some of the later games).

Not bad content, but nothing pushing forward any own reads or really contributing. Jkaen I don't think he's even gone past the joke vote on Lewwyn. @MJW: In the process of doing this, I hit the lurker thread by accident and saw a post by Old Harry. Jumped out asap, but letting you know.

Phone posting, so didn't click this link because I assumed it would be just a vote count. Hum. On the one hand he does give his reads and pick an option amongst the lynchs (if not one I like). On the other hand, his reads are very minimal, and more centred around complaining he doesn't have any, with his vote chosen on a whim. Still, nothing overtly suspicious as yet. Bad that he still doesn't have any reads on way or the other, bur that's something to revisit day 2 or so. unvote

His exact quote was "at the moment Bob is the one I want to see swinging from the gallow." Absolutely worst case scenario, I placed determined in place of want to see, which I don't believe is putting words in someone's mouth, but rather interpreting their intent. Added to my own qualifiers, I think it's a substantial stretch to go from that to "Jabbz R Evil." I could requote Brick, but you clearly didn't pay attention to him the first time. I didn't double down on my vote. I pointed out my qualifiers, and agreed it wasn't a great vote. No sweat for me as it was never intended to be my permanent vote, as I posted above. Further, at that moment, he was determined to see him swing. There are multiple appropriate interpretations of my statement, you are just determined to put it in the worst light. Either way, I don't see you voting for me on it, so I'm not going to worry about it too much.
So I was going to cast my vote for Gore, based on his aggressive treatment of me. I went back to the beginning however to find quotes to damn him, and read everything he posted, and I couldn't find anything that really justified a vote for him. So, despite the fact that I'm irked at him, I'm going to leave my vote at no lynch, as I don't see any arguments persuasive enough to make someone swing. There are enough votes on various people (including Gore, though I don't see it personally) that it's unlikely my vote is going to sway anything anyway. I may respond again before end of day, but no promises, I have a huge honeydo list to take care of.
By the way Jabbz, here's that tool you asked about.

I have to run.
Thank you. I missed it. I was looking for stuff to justify stringing up Gore, and it wasn't pleasant. Still irked I couldn't find something
Ok, clock is ticking down. I don't really agree with Bob's stance on Goreripper, but thanks for the lengthy reply., I see where you're coming from.
Still didn't like this response from Jowy: (January 17th, 2015, 09:17)Jowy Wrote:(January 17th, 2015, 09:13)Goreripper Wrote: Jowy will you vote for anyone else here ever if I am alive? I'm still not really feeling like he is actively scumhunting. He doesnt' like Goreripper either, has a bunch of other 'suspects' but no reasoning for it, and it gives him flexibility to jump to any of them. But I don't really know, and he's not in the running anyway. I'm back to Rowain. Look back at the day. We had a mid-period wagon build on Rowain, I think he got into the lead at 6 votes (Gaz, Lewwyn, Brick, Adrien, Jabbz, QgQQQQ). What happened next? He sounds the same to me from the first game I was played with him. (January 16th, 2015, 20:07)Lewwyn Wrote: But actually I agree with you about Rowain acting a bit standard Rowain since I last posted. Gruff and combative as usual. (January 16th, 2015, 21:50)Goreripper Wrote: Glad to see you agree with the sane consensus that Rowain is pretty much Rowain. So the consensus is that Rowain is acting like Rowain. Which everyone agrees with. So far, everybody is acting in character, so that is a null tell. Its not a reason to vote for Rowain, but its not a reason not to vote for him either. But people start talking like the Rowain wagon is over, because we are agreed that he is in character. Then the worm turns to look at his voters. Sure, there are likely scum there if Rowain is innocent, but who would it be? (January 17th, 2015, 03:34)Rowain Wrote: @BRick why are you still voting me even so you concede that your reason to vote for me was wrong? I don't like that Rowain picks Qgqq of his ankle-biters, and he does it without commenting again. Qgqqq is often mislynch bait, especially in this lineup where people are likely to be squeamish about voting Adrien and Jabbz because of newbie points. When Rowain does give his reason: (January 17th, 2015, 09:38)Rowain Wrote: On general I found that scum loves to use untruth/lies and misinterpretations of my words/actions to attack me. So Brick is one top candidate for this especially with is later excuses to keep his vote on me. Adrien I might excuse for beeing relativly new, Jabbz looks extremly fishy but Qgqqqqq votes because I don't want to lynch zak on D1 which is a thing I have said several times in the past for example in WW 33 (in which Qg also played) This is delivered with way too much certainty. It also assumes that Q remembers the games in detail after a long hiatus. Is that in character for Q? Calling him a 'liar' and therefore scum because he got it wrong, I think is just asking for too perfect a game from another player. I think town Rowain should at least assume that Q might just have made a mistake, and scumhunt wider instead of letting his vote rest there. I remember scum Q as asking lots more questions, seeming more helpful. I don't think he is obvtown, but I don't think he is acting out of character for his town game, anymore than Rowain is. So I don't like the swing to him, I don't like that he was picked out the Rowain voters, and that makes me want to go with my gut feeling and vote for Rowain again. And now Brick is backing down on Rowain too. I don't think we should, and I think Adrien has the right idea in pressuring him. For me, Rowain doesn't deserve a vote because he acted aggressively or pushed Zak or whatever. He deserves it because he voted Bob without making a good case for it, then switched to Qg without making what I think of a good case either, and because the argument people were making that he is 'in character' is irrelevant to that. I think Rowain is more likely a wolf than Goreripper or Q. I see all three as in character, and Rowain as the scummiest. |
