WW 34--The Slugfest!

So we won. Whee! I should have spoken up day 2; I figured my role as traitor vest-giver was primarily to protect traitors from mafia. Dunno if it did anything, but at least I was 2 for 2 giving scum vests. I'm going with the lurker thread consensus; that was in no way werewolf. But it was pretty cool, at least once.

I'm also amused by Brick's official role being Ignored Guy, when he's the one who stepped up and led Team Scum to victory.

When Brick said he was lynch immune and his vote was less, I actually figured it might be better to let him die...

Yeah the lynch immune claim was just to try and hopefully give the true villagers a little more hesitation before just piling all in on me.

And Gore had given me a vest right before he died and I wasn't COMPLETELY sure it wouldn't have stopped a lynch.

Generally, if you're hiding information from a player because you're worried their role is so bad they'll immediately quit the game, you probably should reconsider your design philosophy.

Honestly, I think the most bastard part of this setup was the hidden info - not just BRick's role, but also the reveals (is mob & mafia the same thing?), what certain roles do (mine, for example) and just generally the looseness of the rules/roles of the setup. I think tightening those up and having a more unified and ordered set of how things responded to others would have strengthened it immensely.

That the flavor and reveals were so intermixed didn't help matters.

Well, this was interesting. Yay scum? I had fun but I was also very confused most of the game. Now off to the lurker thread to hopefully clear things up.

And thanks by the way MJW.

Jabbz what happened is pretty clear: the mafia and traitors killed everyone else. Things got really weird though because of the non-standard setup. You should ask more specific questions if you want answers.

If a rage-quit is not possible then its not the ultimate FU role in the first place...

Mob=mafia as I explained immediately after being asked. I couldn't tell you what your role did exactly without revealing the setup. The rules are that all actions go through unless it leads to a nonsensical result (ie recruiting someone who just killed you), Bob gets to kill as many people as possible, Mattimeo gets to go first at night and the timing of Gazglum's gunshots.

The only flavor in this game were the lynches and the traitors role PMs in order to stop someone clearing themselves (even then it influenced what item Lewwyn found and contacts). Everything else meant something.

Wow, thanks for the horribly condescending answer there MJW. I was more confused about why certain voting trends went where they went, than mechanics of the game, as I can read and they were stated pretty clearly at the end.

Odd game but I think it worked well, thanks mjw
