Fall from Heaven Duel League: The Fall From Heaven 10th Anniversary Celebration

I'm of two minds on this.

On the one hand, consistency should trump all ...

and on the other hand ... I don't get that many chances to play base FFH2/ Naval AI/ EMM

either way, If we are using EitB let me know which version so I can get it installed.

It's v11.1 for eitb check that subforum. Install v11 first then v11.1.

I don't think many people will mutually agree to a base ffh game but I think that option is important for people.

Are you signing up?

I'm thinking about it ... not sure if I have time for an e-mail game though.

Let us know what you decide. It would be an honor to face the legendary Tasunke in battle!

So I don't really see anything about Map Size .... and I'm leaning towards a 'Yes' as far as participation is concerned.

Thank you. Tiny is the default because it's small but tbere is some room for growth. There are also issues with sometimes Duel Maps spawn the players within battle range on turn 0! If a mapmaker made a map, Duel could also be used If mutually agreed to.

I'd like to take part in this, but I'm not sure how much time I could devote.

whenever we have the minimum of 8 or more players signed up, we as a group would formally discuss the torunament structure. Preliminarily though I'd say it'd be a form of double elimination which ensures that each participant gets to play 2 games at least ( 2 losses). I imagine for 8 players there will be a maximum of 5 games played assuming starting from the lowest bracket all the way to the championship game. Assuming that we start in February there will be 16 months to play 5 duel games in time for the 10th anniversary of Fall from heaven. This basically means that each set can last a maximum of 3.2 months after which a neutral decision will be made to declare the winner if the game has not completed naturally.

The hope is that because the game is a duel game, turns will potentially be able to pass more quickly between two people. Similarly it is hoped that opponents may be able to schedule some time to more quickly pass turns back and forth So that a game can end quicker than the 3.2 month deadline. We may decide to try to schedule the initial games by timezone depending.

These are just my thoughts and I hope they seem reasonable. I welcome your and everyone else's feedback.

I've just finished the round of invites for Realms Beyond. That means I invited a bunch of people from Civ Fanatics and a bunch from here. At this point, I can think of nothing to do but wait and be patient.

Heh, you're very impatient lol For my late-era game, it took a couple of months for more than one person to even reply! This is a great response, and this looks quite likely to happen.
