A few coast tiles at your capital ain't too bad in RtR... you can mostly make up for the income difference compared to towns with a Harbor + Custom House.
Well, Pangaea, so probably less so here. But in general, yeah, it's not the end of the world. It's actually a fine little capital that really really needs a good name.

Note to self: Do not let New!Phi Wetbandit get the MoM. 5-man golden ages are bad medicine.

So many things this turn with the border pop! Let me list them:
-Gems! In the jungle. Flashbacks are under control, I swear.
-One west of the is a nice city.
-Sugar is a valid second city spot I guess.
-I'm on the neck of the pangaea. scared
-Islands! Maybe! With more cows!

I am cow.
Hear me moo.
I weigh twice as much as you.
And I look good on the barbeque.

Milk and cheese.
Sometimes butters.
Come from liquids.
From my udders.

I am cow.
I am cow.
I am cow!

Still need some sims, but after double-checking Ichabod's comment...yeah, forest gems make the western spot a very strong candidate indeed. Meanwhile, the scout is scouting still further out east. Another lighthouse lake freshening a grain resource, sweet, plus this time the BEST TILE EVER under the scout. Looks like the land turns upward, too. Hrm.

Wait for iiiiiit...

Oh hell. This is why Krill named me “Karmadore”, isn't it? I do believe this points to me being not only on a neck, but in fact being the center of an X. Which means I can expect something like this:

Well holy smokes. I really want this spot to be my second city. Or start location, hell. I've got to be edging into borderlands by now, but this is a spot worth fighting for. Fourth city, maybe? Hard to say.

I love lighthousable lakes. Probably more than I should.

Change of plans time! Growing on a work boat actually works out perfectly for this start. It does mean that the worker will need to mine a bare hill after farming the wheat before going chopping, but given my imperialistic leanings that's hardly tragic. Riverside grass hill mines are good, yo. Micro this game is being planned out during my commute, so I don't promise perfection, particularly at this nice 2t/day pace.

Gang aft agley, again?

Weird lands, hereabouts (both bodies salty). I still figure this for being some sort of X configuration but it's a weird and snaky one if so. It's also about the era of animals now; going to make a point to end turn on defensive terrain and pray assiduously to avoid bears. Fishing and worker both done EoT Saturday, looks like...my biggest regret is the delay for seeing if we have capital copper (Krill, so likely).

I am sick and tired of these mother-f'n snakes on these mother-f'n maps.

So few more tiles seen, so much news. It's a the Yuri! /strongbadvoice. Plus I'm about to get hit by a wolf, so that's fun. Yuri is henceforth assumed to be E-SE. I'll get an analysis post up tomorrow. We've technically already met due to mapmaker mishap; amusing that we see each other first. I'm also encouraged by this scout-to-scout meet...means our capitals may be very distant indeed.

100% approve of that rarely-seen banner flying here. And of course Japan is east of China.
