WW35: Not Another TPS Report [Game Thread]

Vanilla Cop is trash. If it cleared vanilla townies as town, then maybe, but scanning mafia goons gives the same result as vanilla towns. So it's not really any use at all except to catch someone lying about being a power role when they are a mafia goon.

FBI Agent is also pretty weak, indie hunting is generally not a wise idea.

Back Up Doc is decent.

Only played one game back in 2012.

I wouldn't stick with Enabler either unless my only other choice was Vanilla Townie honestly, it doesn't make your play much more interesting.

Why do you think Mattimeo ditching FBI Agent is the most suspicious out of those that you listed Rowain? I'd take many roles over it - Cop for instance would have a greater impact on the game, especially since there would have been a chance of having one or no SKs in the game, whereas we're guaranteed to have something like 4 Mafia at least.

I'm much more concerned about Novice throwing away Doctor; admittedly I don't know if that would be in character for him to discard it for a different town role, but it's a red flag either way.

I actually tought we'd only see the discarded roles, not who discarded what. lol That gives loads of information!

In a first read, Novice's role is the only one I'd go: "why discard that" about. But I can think of a good number of reasons why he'd ditch that not being wolf...

Interesting discussion, nonetheless!

Since most people would probably reject Vanilla townie, a reveal of vanilla is still a heavy hint that someone is a Mafia Goon. But rejecting Vanilla cop is less suspicious than Doctor or Innocent Child, I'll give that.

It isn't a real cop only a vanilla-cop so good to catch people who lie about being powerless but not that useful to find scum.

Mattimeo because he usually survives quite long (can get lot of uses out of his role) and finding an SK is a top-priority ( reducing nightkills is good).

You could make the case for taking Vanilla Townie over Miller or Lover, those roles are just liabilities for the person playing them.

But yeah, all that discarding Vanilla Townie/Miller means is that the person's other role was more interesting - that's not much to answer for.

Just FYI:

Quite a few people have mentioned that they didn't realize that the discarded roles will show exactly who discarded what. That was my intention from the start, but looking at the phrasing it has in the signup thread, I definitely see how that isn't very clear. So I am sorry for not being clearer with the setup of the game and having people be misled.

I also don't think that's a mistake that gives reason to restart the game at this point, it should definitely still be playable as it stands.

There were two Cops up for grabs in addition to the Vanilla Cop @Rowain, don't forget.

Well, I don't see much reason about voting novice for now. If he discarded Doctor, he's probably the seer or whatever powerful power role (if town) - yeah, I don't think I'm spilling the beans here for the wolves, they probably can make that assumption by themselves. So, the wolves will have to kill him early to avoid that novice uses his power too much. So, we'll get either a confirmed villager novice soon (meaning, he's dead) or we'll get a lot of leverage from his power role.

If he's a wolf, we'll now soon enough. He's bound to have to claim a power role to survive, sooner or later, and it'll be easy to compare results then, to see if he's lying.

Yeah, yeah, never leave killing a wolf for later. But it's not like novice is confirmed wolf or anything. And from the game I was the mod, where novice rolled wolf, he didn't seem too happy about it, so I think he rather likes to play town.

Brick's announcement puts further suspicion on those who rejected the good town roles, since it's possible they would have thought their rejection would remain a secret (and thus not worry about being lynched day 1 for rejecting the role).
