Ok yes so we do not have peace - note that GJ made peace with furungy again last turn... I cannot keep track of these wars. Hak wanted incense for a map. I thought it would be nice to help him and we have a lot of incense available. He does not have many cities left. I think we will outlast him! He does have a decent capital stack but 2 armies advancing in on him... We should keep the scout there to see who takes it. It is the prize with the hanging gardens in there.

I just realised that I took terrible screenshots sorry. This is the state at the start of the turn. (minus me killing a longbow and numid on the mine for a knight) I covered the retreating knight with the pikes. Not quite sure if that was the best course of action now but oh well I wanted the healer numid gone. We have a healer unit in the cap now too.

We killed lots for a loss of 4 pikes. Not bad overall. It's a shame as we had quite a few bad rolls. All attacks were odds on, and losses with 75-80% odds. Oh well.
Defence left in MCG - not too important as there is nothing that can hit this turn. But keep a few things back.



Next turn I can still enter the road network with the surviving MCG knights. They can then be at the cap the turn after. However it all depends on his movement choices. Dreylin do not seem to be responding to a 1 longbow defence of SC.

The GG is Charles Martel, you could rename the cap Poitiers just for show. Good job, the bad rolls keep on coming and we keep on surviving !

Yeah they do. Annoying but little we can do about it. MCG should be safe for a while now. That should be irritating as they can't shrine up. I shall rename it Poitiers next turn tongue

Ok he offered us free peace which I accepted. He killed a trieme but I had left RB empty and it wasn't razed so I didn't mind too much. Not too much Damage to our forces overall if you think of it as a separate incident from the attack. We have 10 turns before they can come at us again - but will they. I have been thinking they will want to hit us back hard and finish us, but let's be honest we can't do anything to them because of the choke border. They keep a few pikes and longbows in there and well we are stuck... So I actually think he may be using this as a rearrange to try and take gavagi whilst he is off fighting HAK.

Speaking of which we now have very close borders to the north with gavagi. Also a barb city popped up on one of our wanted sites in our back lands. That warrior I pulled back was doing something after all. I looked over the map and felt a bit sorry for furugny actually - hat iceball to his South is huge and an absolute haven for barb spawns...

So what to do? I'm shipping workers South, although apart from that unsure. I feel all improvements should be hammer ones now.

Also of note is we have a GG. We could use him for a 5 move galley... We could hit the chole city unseen. Or move it up through HAK lands and try and raze a GJ city when he comes back on the offensive up there?

Tech wise, where should we go? If we go straight to grenadiers we should reach them around the same time as the others. Also I have come around slightly to your way of thinking re espionage. We are very close to city visibility on a lot of GJ cities. A turn of full esp points might be worth it to gain the vision? We aren't gonna hit many more useful techs...

How long would it take us to reach astronomy ?
The main problem of the grenadier line is that the techs to get there are useless without astronomy. I'll take a look ingame tonight to get a better view

For astro we would need compass and optics. I would say well over 20 turns...

I whipped the cities to the ground for the war. Only SC is relatively unscathed

Yeah I moved an extra few units into it. Unless he has astro I am fairly certain it is safe.
