I wouldn't give enormous village credit to anyone who jumped on novice after Mattimeo revealed & cast his vote, which in this case is all of us. Novice at that point must have appeared to the scum to be a dead man walking, who (possibly) already achieved a major objective in getting *two* actual Cops to reveal themselves, and whose greatest remaining utility to their faction would be being thrown under a bus.


I can speak on this some from personal experience; I largely survived in the Paranoia game by D1 bussing one of my erstwhile teammates. No matter how bad I looked in the subsequent days (and I looked pretty bad by the end), I always had that strong "pro-village" action in my corner.

To further that train of thought, I think the D2 hunt should start with the non-Mattimeo people who pitched a fit when novice initially picked up votes. The people who were happy to ignore novice and pile on Qg instead, up until Mattimeo made those votes untenable.

Meiz, I'm not sure I'd go so far as to say those 6 are for sure town. Definetely town points for your early novice voters. I'd add bob to that list as well, he voted for novice in his first post, which came after novice's claim. I don't think a scum would do that. With no talking during the day, I find it more likely that they would try to sit back and hope the claim brought focus elsewhere rather than put a vote on him. Actually, strongest town lean out of that on bob for me.

Actually, I think Bob's voting pattern is suspicious. IIRC, he was the only one who kept voting for Novice throughout the day, even though Novice had claimed cop and it was day one. That's not very sound play, on the face of it, and it raises the question of where he got his conviction from. On the other hand, he was also the only one who really made a show of weighing the various cross-claims against each other at the end of the day. While most other players seemed to realize intuitively who the most likely liar was.

I don't read his tone as scummy, but I think his play looks a little like scum angling for towncred.

I also think Jkaen deserves some heat for chickening out with a "let's leave all cops alive" stance after a rather inactive day. He's usually no fan of Novice, either.

Lewwyn looked like frantic scum when he finally made an appearance. Agree with Meiz that the counterattack on him (and me?) was unconvincing.

I'll want to reevaluate Jabbz but I still think it's quite possible that he's scum.

Still, he joined the Novice wagon *after* his cop claim, and was the last person to leave.

Rowain bears watching. He has a way of using eccentric reasoning, prodding, and cryptic statements to lull you into a feeling that he's being active and on your side, when in actual fact he's voting against you. I don't really suspect him at this point, but I just want to note that he is sneaky.

Fair is fair, I also actively argued for "let cops live".

Novice voted for Jabbz when he was up 3 votes, at a time when he had no imminent fear of getting lynched. I make it 59% chance of both cop roles being in play, and no indication that both cops would claim anyway day 1. So this could be a regular mislynch attempt which moves Jabbz townwise.

Could be. But I think Novice would have followed my vote practically anywhere, so it's pretty null.

(Reason being, when I'm town and he's scum, his best cues for how he ought to feel as a townie come from me.)
