Final comments about the Eastern Spot:
1) we have 8t of Peace remaining, Triremes on the way and can get the garrison up and running fast
2) he's in a war on the other side of his land
3) the longer we leave settling this spot, the harder it's going to be to fight the culture battle with Adrien's new city over the intervening tiles - if we place soon, we can get ahead on that race (we have Religion, he doesn't); otherwise we'll always be playing catch-up.
4) Wheat
I'm OK to plant Marble next turn and go from there, but I suspect it'll be a long time before we are able to turn back and settle this spot if we don't do it now. Alright then. I'm convinced. In which case we should plant it first, followed by possibly Marble.

Yeah, but it's going to be unhappy next turn and the Warrior won't be out yet. It just needs to be there to cover one turn of garrison.
Except it takes 2t to walk back, so it won't get there before the new Warrior pops anyway. No, it needs to go to 2.5", not walk back to Smurf. I'm an idiot!
One out of Two isn't bad, right?

OK, played turn109 and remembered all the notes.
If we want to get the new city off the ground fast, we really need to 1t Agriculture next turn so we can start Farming on t111. That would take ~70% Science for a turn, but we could always run at 100% and overflow. Waiting and just using the Sheep is considerably slower.
We also need to find somewhere to put out the Missionary it wants ASAP for OrgRel & Culture.

We can whip one out at Smurf. Yeah, I know it still has a lot of whip anger but it has the highest happiness cap and food surplus (can get 8 surplus even with 1 unhappy citizen).

My Dad has the same habit; you ask him a question like "would you like "a" or "b" for dinner" and he'll answer "yes".
Sooooo, I do at least get that you agree with 1t Agriculture, but do you think at 70% or 100% Science?

It's just a trade off between getting that city set up faster and earlier currency. I think Agri is worth it. 100% seems to get us one more total of beaker + gold, so it's likely best, though normally I don't really work out the optimal rate

I made a 'rule' that if people answered like this, then the answer was the first option. So for you Dad, it would have been 'a' for dinner. Doesn't sound that filling.

Ruff, that is the last thing I expected to hear from the man who's half-way through routing a kilometer of ethernet cables through his home.
I guess you're more a hardware guy than a software one, or did you just get stuck around too many people who thought they were being clever after learning about OR gates?

It is funny the first few times ... but that answer is primarily a way of turning the table on the person asking the question ... by not answering the question. My approach was my way of flipping the table back on them by accepting the first selection.
Re Ethernet ... I have finally got everything together here ... wired house, hardware for network (cable modem, router, switch, patch panel, etc, etc) ... but now we really are moving to Boston. The house we are looking to buy in Boston doesn't have Ethernet. Guess I get to run all of those cables again.

Arse!
You know what I said before about cancelling chops just so I could check? Well I apparently didn't do that on the hill chop at ZIF and it went to AP by mistake. So that's a 1t Trading Post, but it does mean the Trireme from ZIF is going to take forever unless we start working a Hammer tile.
IMO we're better to 1t ZIF's Barracks and plan on getting a second Trireme directly out of AP. I'll set this up, but we'll still be able to change if you have a strong opinion the other way.
