WW35: Not Another TPS Report [Game Thread]

On Jkaen's early day 2:

His post early on of 'if you feel the need to lynch me to clear way from proper discussion' feels off - when you put it like that at the start of day 2 of course people will not lynch you right away. Like he's saying it to gain town cred, not because he means it. He makes big case posts against Bob, dtay and TT, voting against Bob. Notable that when Jkaen voted for Bob at a point when votes were 4/4/3 for dtay/Bob/TT, but that's not strong evidence for being mafia. Him continuing to push his Jowy case into Day 2 I don't like either. Don't know if Jkaen as scum would push a hopeless case, but it looks scummy to me now.

Honestly though zakalwe's Day 2 play is fishier now that I look back at it. He calls out Bob repeatedly for his factual error in his TT case (claiming that TT pushed claimed cop Q, but TT didn't post pushing him after Q had claimed), then (post #692) more agreeing with Gaz and Adrien's cases on Bob. Actually half his serious posts at this time are about Bob. No smoking gun here, and I suppose it's good that zak is consistent in his suspicion of Bob, but it doesn't read well to me imo. His posting in the rest of the game has been good overall, so possibly he just made a mistake wrt Bob.

My thoughts about a possible Q/TT scumteam: Q as scum could be bussing TT to exonerate himself for endgame. Right now we've got a setup where both claim that the other is lying about their night actions, especially N1, which would suggest that if one flips mafia the other is town. Notice TT at the start of the day bringing up the 'mythical roleblocker' business again. If TT flips as a Mafia Roleblocker this would add support to Q's explanation of not dying previously too - Mafia was sure they could roleblock him while killing more important players.

Of course this could also mean that mafia is deliberately leaving Qg alive to make him look suspicious. I kind of doubt that Q and TT are actually mafia together, but it wouldn't be out of the question.

Every time a new post appears in the lurker thread I wonder if it's some variation of "Get a load of THIS idiot smoke".

Anybody else get that feeling?

That "lynch me if you feel the need" post from Jkaen is one of his town points to me. It just felt like a very townish post, and if it's faked I'd say it's very well done.

The other post I really liked was "this, boys and girls...". Obviously not for the great content, but it also felt townish.
If you know what I mean.

I think Jabbz's back-forth with Q on his vote switch (after lynch) seems very townish.

IMO Fenn on day 2 & 3 doesn't end up looking too good when thinking him + TT as scum pair.

Mod kill did hurt them. And the Power-role-reveal-thing, forcing poor Novice into a cop claim.

Like I said, probably paranoia, but for some reason that comment just stuck in my craw. It's not been influencing my reads but it just felt...off, somehow.

@Jabbz did you really think a scum roleblocker would try and interact with you on that level? Like, deliberately crumb their own role? I mean, they knew I'd discarded RB from day 1, so they would be doing nothing but revealing themselves as scum.

Nice catch, Q. The well-known absence of a town roleblocker makes it look like this:

(February 7th, 2015, 12:36)Jabbz Wrote: Breadcrumb and fishing for someone to say they were the roleblocker. I was going to reveal first thing day 2, then my dumb ass stopped and realized there could be a role blocker instead of just a strongarm. I figured scum wouldn't be likely to target me, I gave no signs of having an important role, and town was ready to lynch me. The fact that I looked that scummy however, meant town might have blocked me. So I did my best to open lines of communication in a way that ONLY the potential RB that blocked ME night one would notice. No one responded to my personals ad though, it left me feeling very lonely.

is an explanation that was made up today. He explicitly says "town might have blocked me". You're sure you're not a traffic cop, Jabbz? smile

Traffic cop?

As to the meat of your post, there was still a potential (and later found confirmed) jailer in the setup, that would operate as a RB in that situation.

Ok, So I reread a bunch of shit today. I think this day started out good, we evaluated some claims, got some stuff moving. Then it died. I think I'm partially responsible for that, as I have allowed the discussion stray towards me defending myself, explaining myself, and allowing myself to be questioned. This focuses all the attention on me, and leaves too little elsewhere. This is problematic for a lot of reasons, not the least is that scum like it a lot.

I'm not going to defend myself against comments pulled from day 2, day 1 etc, and have you try to stir up doubt. I am not where the conversation needs to be. If you want to make a claim against me, make it, stop with this piecemeal bullshit that only achieves stalling the conversation on other people, and makes it harder for me to aggressively pursue scum.

I am pretty sure there are at least 2, maybe three mafia left. There are 8 players, left. There are only 5 votes up. Why is this? I think the mafia is playing us quite well. Meiz and Jkaen, you need to get your votes up sooner rather than later to prevent some last minute changes by mafia which could switch the way this vote goes. If the mob has a dayvig the changes could be even easier. You guys voting can stop it, as we have to outnumber them today, unless Brick is a real asshole and allowed 6 mafia and 2 sk :P

I'm pretty sure there are no other reasonable candidates for today's vote. If someone posts one this late, it probably means they planned a last minute hijack of the vote, and you really shouldn't buy into it. Dont be distracted by fluff and mirrors.
