Not that cylindrical maps are really any better from a realism PoV....
Ha, I came to that same conclusion about five minutes after I posted this.

For any observatory built within the correct internal "hubward" latitudes, they would provide visibility of the opposite visible part of the planet in the sky above, whatever 20-30% arc of the sky that would entail. This would be expressed in game as revealed tiles along an arc from each city with a latitude-determined eligible observatory, like a scout mission with an airship does now, only it would be automatically revealed as visible tiles. There's no counter to geography, except to know that whoever's cities you can see via observatory on the other side of the planet can obviously see your cities from their own cities with observatories.
As before, not serious. Just interesting.

Also - the heavy metals would not be available on the inside of the torus ... only the outside.
I have finally decided to put down some cash and register a website. It is www.ruffhi.com. Now I remain free to move the hosting options without having to change the name of the site.

Didn't have a lot of time tonight so couldn't play the turn, but I took a quick look in-game and everything looks OK. There's a CH Warrior in Adrien's land NE of the Hub having a look, and his extra Galley has disappeared.
Oh, and it looks like CH and johns are at it again somewhere - civstats suggests CH took a city and burned it.

Elum moved up a galley, so we're off to pillage the village (axe move NW not shown):
Xenu: that's very interesting but far too much math for a game

He landed a pair of Axes 1W of Ainu. I pillaged the Village for 15g and promoted to CII incase he decides to take a swipe at us.
I retreated the other Axe into the Forest within borders. The Chariot remains unmoved ... I think we should send it West to the grasshill (then NW-N into the forest to stay out of site), but I didn't want to do without your input.
I played most of the rest of the turn and made some build suggestions at those cities we didn't have anything in the Plan - mostly Axes & Triremes - feel free to override any you think unnecessary. I kept the Workers around 2.5" busy as well, since they're going to have to wait for transport to Barbstralia.
TBH it feels like The Plan might be getting too unwieldy to use for much longer ... what do you think?
Turn is not ended, but if it rolled over us it wouldn't be a disaster - I'm around for an hour or so more this evening. I might be around a little less over the next few weeks, though hopefully still enough to be fully involved!

Not really necessary: he's not going to send a C1 Axe and an no-promo Axe at a C1 Shock Axe across a river, but what's done is done.

We shouldn't be looking for an opportunity to hit Elum: we have enough on our plate in the east:

The Barbarian Hordes approach. Our axe can't cover both the forest and the hill: we'll actually have to move our axe to the hill to protect the worker. Turn isn't ended but I really don't think we should move the chariot.

Agreed. I'm thinking of not doing Worker MM on it from now on, but city planning is still useful.

I'll be a little busy next weekend, but should still be able to cover if needed.
And Adrien has iron ![shakehead shakehead](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/shakehead.gif) , so more Axes are good. Also, is there a reason why there's a spear on the Pigs at TP?

Elum will likely keep that city when he takes it; we can hit it immediately afterwards, or live with it. If we want to stop him having it short term, we have to hit him. I agree we don't want to provoke more trouble with him, but ...
Since we haven't seen any Immortals, we can delay the Spear's arrival - drop it off by Smurf and take an Axe instead this run?
Won't the Worker have finished the road and be chopping the Forest by the time the Axes arrive?
Spear on Pigs was intended to be some sort of zone defense between TP & PP - it needs the tile SE of it roading to accomplish that. OTOH, we could just stick it back in the city.

Won't the Worker have finished the road and be chopping the Forest by the time the Axes arrive? Worker will just have finished roading and be vulnerable to the axes. We can cover it with a fresh C1 Shock Axe from the mainland, but the two axes will combined have a total of 38.4% of beating that Axe. So we'll have to cover the worker with both axes, and worst case scenario is both barb axes advance to the forest and we let them suicide against our axes in the city. That should be okay.

Sounds good. We'll just build another Spear in TP instead of an Axe.
Edit- AP should build Spear after Axe: Adrien will be hooking up Horses next turn and we should stick one on the Galley.

Turn played and rolled:

Agent/johns generated a GS in their capital, TP's borders popped again (so we can remove that warrior from barb spawning duty), and the barbs don't seem to be swarming our city.

Heh!
Well that goes to show we have no idea about Barb mechanics!
