Sounds like you've got it all square Saruman. PBEM works by each player e-mailing the save to the next player in the turn-order: so you'll be getting the save from Tasunke's vicious vampires, and e-mailing it to Ellmist' merciless mages... (hey, I like alliteration!)
I look forward to trying to stop you from ending the world with my crowd of crazy clowns!
Regards,
Northstar

Yes, you'll need to share your email so that we can send the game to you. You play your turn and then you attach the turn that you just created (for the opponent) to an email and send it to the next opponent in line.
On another note, I really need people to verify this: We are using Fall From Heaven Patch P Correct? http://forums.civfanatics.com/showthread.php?t=419634
We install Fall From Heaven. Apply Patch o then patch p right? I'm sure our Sheiam player wants this yes?

Every player creates their own private thread in the PBEM XLI forum like the one Elimist has made. These threads are made to keep the community who want to follow the game involved, and lurkers post things/questions that does not give away information they gained from other threads. Then there are 'dedlurkers' (a new term for me) who only follow a single players thread and therefore can give specific advice or even in some cases take turns.
Therefore, I, as a player, make my thread, do NOT look at other players threads, and do NOT look at current lurker thread. I'm assuming I can still use this thread for any game/rules questions.
Do I have that right? Is there anything else I should know before we start?
Yes, this is exactly correct. Dedlurker is short for "dedicated lurker," and are essentially teammates.

When you end your turn, the game will create a new savegame file for the player after you. Send this save as an email attachment to that player. Don't worry about the STMP thing, just open the saves that you are sent and pass on the saves that come after yours.
One thing we generally do at RB that makes this a little bit easier is to create a "tracker" email. What this means is that you can just send the save to this email and it will automatically get passed on to the player after you. This helps to keep track of who has the turn to avoid confusion and delays.

As often as you like. Posting something every turn would be great, but most people are quite a bit less consistent than that.

Correct. Patches "o" and "p".
Should we also add in More Naval AI in case we can't find a human to take over the Mercurians/Infernals, and need to leave them to the AI?

I'm fine with more naval ai, but it's become a mod on its own now. We would not be playing vanilla ffh technically

...MNAI is a very different beast. I strongly recommend against using it, as it is very distinctly *not* vanilla, and that was what was determined/voted on.

I had Naval AI and I really enjoy the interface, but considering we agreed on vanilla I think we should stick to it especially since there will at most be 1 AI so whatevs. Also, I just reinstalled vanilla and patched to p (Yes as Sheaim we all NEED this patch ) and it actually saved my old install as .old which is super useful.
Thanks for the clarification about stuff earlier.

Huh. I figured More Naval AI was just a fix to the AI... You mean to tell me it does other stuff too?

Yeah. Some stuff is just tied up in options, but lately there's more extras being relatively stealthily included (technology propagation, for example, as well as some EitB changes (hawk rebasing, for example).
Speaking of which, IIRC, Bob was planning on sending the WBSave to me so I could launch it (because I still have a old ffh2 version set up. So if you could agree on a consistent modname for everyone to rename it to, that would be nice.

Okay, since we haven't come to a consensus yet on diplomacy, I went through the thread and compiled the diplo preferences that everyone posted.
Quote:Tasunke:
Diplomacy: AI
Saruman:
Diplomacy: Players can make whatever agreements they so choose, no mass gifting cities or any silliness like that though.
Ellimist:
May only send messages on your own turn. Otherwise unrestricted.
Kragoth:
Diplomacy: Full
Northstar:
Limited Diplo- full messaging but no NAP's, Alliances, or Vassalage (basically, you can ask/offer resources, and I'm inclined to allow TT if not abused)
Interpreting this a bit, I think Kragoth and Saruman and I are basically asking for the same thing. Northstar prefers no NAPs but otherwise agrees, and only Tasunke wants to ban messaging entirely. I don't think we're far from a broad consensus, but the current preferences are diverse enough that we should probably hash it out.
