[Spoilers] REM and AdrienIer's thread of football, spamming and blaming it on the mod

That is a vent! I do not follow rugby too closely so I cannot really comment much, but suffice to say we are having our own problems. Nothing as bad as France but Gatland brought an amazing game when he came in and... Has not changed it. Wales is predictable and tired. They need new gameplans or just something to liven things up for them. We were lucky to scrape the win today, I don't think it was particularly deserved. We are going nowhere in our WC group I feel even with what is essentially home advantage. So yeah, both teams are pretty stagnant pre the world cup on their doorsteps. Sad, but what can you do?

Just as a name blab I actually trained in medical school with Jamie Roberts - we were in the same year at Cardiff (well for a while, he was allowed to take each year as a double year) he got away with murder, and now is earning millions... No hint of bitterness there or anything :P

To the game - not much to say. I did remember to screenshot this time. We are holed up pretty well. I dont think any attack will be too forthcoming. However... Even with the nerfed blockades we are getting hurt quite badly. Luckily the moai city is escaping pretty much unscathed but not for long. However, very little we can do about this sadly... Triemes are not gonna dent frigates. I put full tech on for astro as we need to try something here. I am thinking maybe we should resettle RB as well. GJ now has the whole of our northern enclave except the barb city, and has killed all the portugal units there I believe.

Well at least Wales has a game plan... But of course I see your point. We'll see in two weeks if no game plan is better than a predictable game plan, but I doubt it.

Ha, I guessed right you are a doctor (or close enough) dancing
I don't really remember the Jamie Roberts case but it rings a bell somehow...

I remember noticing the privateer and the frigate when I logged in to unpause Furungy, how long is there to astro ? 15 turns ? More ?

But if all you need to do is counter our play that could be your plan. If you do poorly then nobody has bothered to learn from any previous matches.

Ha yes I am a doctor, I thought you knew? It does come with sucky hours at times and unpredictable shifts and finishing times, but it's good fun. I miss being a student though! I only mention it as I knew him and I understood at the time he was offered a particularly large salary for a rugby player. (Maybe it was the largest at the time? I know it was over a million)

Astro I dunno. Compass is 2. Bare in mind we have pirates sucking our coffers dry now too, we have enough gold for about 9 turns of tech. It's gonna be hard for galleons to help us too much, they will be mashed by frigates before they get close to GJ stuff.

Yeah I guessed when you said you had long shifts but still sounded like you liked your job. Plus you mentioned a derivative in like our second email so I thought a scientific field was likely, or at least some kind of scientific study. So doctor was most likely. Maybe you did confirm it somewhere but I didn't see it or don't remember.

How close are we to astro+chem then ? Less than 20t if left alone ? Maybe it would be worth it to look for peace with GJ and counterattack Dreylin ? I don't want to give GJ money but it's not like northern barb city is of any use to us.

I hope the wolves don't kill you tonight, I'd be left playing the game on my own smile

Ha I wouldn't read too much into mentioning derivatives. I doubt a lot of my colleagues would know what they are never mind be able to use them in a useful fashion! Maths skills are not great amongst us. But yes fun and long shift work is a fairly safe bet.

Not much to say this turn. I wonder if the privateer gold steals have been patched out as it did not appear on the event log... Astro may be even longer than 20t, and Chem on top much further. However we have a GS out of the cap soon. He could bulb astro for us... Probably a best use for him. Might be able to bulb it and get it in about 10 hopefully!

Bar city will be lost in 2 turns. I'm not gonna be spiteful and let him have the workers unless you have a major objection...

Bulbing astro is probably best yes.
My only objection is that GJ will have 3 civs worth of land soonish if he puts his mind into it. But deleting workers is probably going too far. At least don't build any more improvements with them, let him do the work

True. I am using them to chop outside the borders atm. There are 8 up there. Probably a big boost actually as he has none up here. Definitely we should bulb astro. I am thinking of a cheeky way to try and do some damage to GJ...

We should build a galley in MCG and move it into the forts where it is safe. We can then use the GG on it to increase its moves by 3 and for a free upgrade. Then we can try and hit his cap faster than it would appear we could especially as we are bulbing into astro. There are lots of areas in that southern ocean that he will not be able to see a galleon waiting. Will screenshot the idea with lines next turn.
