WW 36 - Horrors in Kingsport [Game Thread]

Whatever Zak. No matter what I say, you're going to read it how you wish. As to me miss lynching you, go check the lurker thread, pretty much everyone thought you were scummy.

Yes, whatever. Not very relevant here.

Who do you suspect now?
If you know what I mean.

I'd be willing to join the wagon on Q, but for now I'm staying on Mattimeo.

I'm in the early stages of re reading day 1 but this post by zak struck me again, but for a different reason. Perhaps this is a bit WIFOM but why would wolf-zak ever say this? He would know that Mattimeo is his teammate and he would know that Mattimeo is going to lurk no matter what. By saying this wolf-zak is putting himself in a corner because he would have to vote for Mattimeo.

Okay, so then he just needs to vote Mattimeo later in the day and he's kept consistent and joined in the lynching of scum, which would earn him major town points.

Only he didn't do that. He joins me on Fenn...

I think this gives zak town credit. It's too clumsy to be coordinated. Like I said, it's a bit WIFOM and I still have a lot to go through day 1 but I have a hard time with wolf-zak saying this.

I know there are some questions for me and I will answer those when I get home from work. I made good progress on the homework assignment (we are to make a basic Unix shell) due Sunday so I'm going to block some time tonight for this game

Still Saul and dtay, but for the same relatively unsubstantial reasons earlier. I'll have better reads after someone dies, until then, *shrug* not enough context.

What do you mean by not enough context?

When someone dies, it will apply some context to the arguments for and against them. We then know that, whether or not their arguments are accurate, they are at least coming from an honest town perspective. We can look at arguments for and against them, with the knowledge that they are town, and evaluate them in that light. Death of a townie provides a lot of context. WIFOM included.

Death of a townie provides considerably less information. A townie doesn't know anything. Death of scum provides actual information.

I'm confused as to why this is important by the question saul asks. Are you saying that we should get context by lynching Saul and dtay? Even if they're villagers? I mean yeah killing them tells you whether they are innocent or scum, but its kind of like the last resort?

Rowain: well, looks like you're right again. I suppose I have a feeling that is incorrect. Now I'm kinda frustrated with myself why I remembered it that way if it wasn't so. I do think there was some of that back in 20 but I can't go back and look now.

Will you admit you're wrong about accusing me of pushing you or are you just gonna let that one slide? neenerneener

Zakalwe: I'm not going back and cherry picking posts, I put those up because I found it very odd of you to do not one but two posts specifically saying "I like this post", cause ethic doesn't seem like something you usually do.

Otherwise, if all you're saying is you'd be fine pressuring me and making me respond to stuff now when you weren't yesterday, that's fine, I don't expect to not have to answer to what I say. The turning the thumbscrews statement in conjunction with the earlier like posts had gotten me confused.

Not even remotely where I was going Lewwyn. What I was stating was that someone will be dying in 15 mins, and that will provide some context to work with for the next day. I believe this is somewhat standard play. I'm not sure why I am being forced to explain this to two very experienced players.

I had no idea that the day was anywhere near done when I came online - it happened more as an afterthought than anything else. When reading through, I came across vote counts talking about how many hours were left and decided I'd probably missed the lynch - that there was even half an hour left was a surprise and a half.

Anyway. My strong impression from what I'd read was that the lynch on Matt was a clear policy lynch with little to no thought behind it. That's why I was happy to lynch pretty well everyone before him, as an easy lynch like that is a) normally on town and b) generally one scum is very happy to lazily push. I still haven't reread that day to know exactly what made me think that Zakalwe was pushing or at least lazily supporting a Matt lynch, (though Saul has quoted one above which looks like it), but to me that seemed out of character for what I remembered about Zaks play and behavior, plus there was support for his lynch, so I went after him.

Pushing for his lynch was more about the circumstances than the person - my post saying it was fun meant exactly that, I was enjoying myself greatly doing something I don't think I've ever done before (to me, I felt a bit like a knight on a quest - we had an obviously bad policy lynch with little to no reasoning on one side as the princess to save, and the heartless yet mighty dragon of Zak to slay on the other. It was a last minute lynch push -something I don't think I've ever done before, certainly not driven one as town - and I found it very exciting. That the princess we were saving turned out to be Hannah the Irin, a prophesized cultist dripping with arcane power, is another matter entirely.)
