Rename my Hunter Red. A pokemon mod of ffh would be fun.

It's not quite a modmod, and the formatting has since fallen apart, but this might interest you smile

Now, um, back to the supposed subject of the thread mischief

Scouting info so far:

These are real badlands. Not gonna settle this way until we've got our forestry corps in action, I think.

Doesn't look terrible to me (two cows could feed a city, albeit not super-well. And any forest tile is useful post-Education).
But for your first few cities, I'm assuming you want to settle north and south along the river.

neenerneener Ok, so it was hyperbole. No rush to settle this way is probably more accurate.

Scout finds...actually pretty good lands.

It appears my understanding of the elven forest bonus move is incorrect - I get an extra move if forest was the first tile entered but not second tile. So the scout is still limited to two tiles/turn.

And the warrior found enough in the north that I'm pretty confident in this site:

Does not get to share Remnants happy, but lots of good tiles regardless.

Going to finish the loop of the cap then come home.

IIRC you can get three tiles if the first is a non-forest and the second is a forest (it's a weird mechanic).

Looks pretty good. And if you're going to plant there, it's probably better that the capital isn't one tile further north.

SWW of there could pick up the Remnants and a lot more forests, at the cost of losing the corn. Have the warrior check out that area on its way back, maybe? (you'll surely want an early city in that direction)

If that were the case, the scout could have had a third move this turn. His first step was SE onto the bare grass, second was onto that forest

Yep, although I won't claim I was thinking that at the time lol

Yep, warrior's in no hurry to come home. Come to think, he might not actually come home at all. We've a non-rush opponent and already 5 hpt in the capital. Third ring borders will come soon. And we don't need MP happy any time soon, not with 9 happy cap.

About the only reason to bring the warrior home is so our first build can be another scout, to get more pressure on Northstar. Granted, that's a pretty decent reason, but it'll only make three turns difference either way. I might just prefer to let the warrior keep roaming for info.

I'm not really sure we need the Remnants for our second city, though. We ought to have cotton hooked by then, and silk is there, and gold won't be far behind. Plus, that's the phase of the game where mostly what I want built is workers and settlers.

Dunno, no rush to decide, in any event. If there's good stuff by your proposed alternate, then we'll go for it instead.

Beelining scout found a spider this turn frown. On his second move, of course, so I couldn't even run away. He's on a jungle tile, so there's still a chance of this turning out awesome; if he happens to win, at 4.4 vs 5, then he'll definitely be able to grab Shock and maybe CII as well. Not holding my breath for it.

Will try to post pics next time a turn comes around, maybe tonight.
