WW 36 - Horrors in Kingsport [Game Thread]

That's true, its a nasty spread again. But I think we can narrow it. I think that Sunrise is a really bad candidate. Definitely worse than Q. Sunrise could well be scum, but I find it hard to believe that he would put in such a pitiful effort if he was. Think about it - he would have his scum buddies yelling at him to post.

Also, I think his one attempt at defense did make some good points:

(February 22nd, 2015, 01:18)sunrise089 Wrote: Quick note on my own innocence: I'm happy to defend more vigorously if need be, but while I know scum can bus, to be clear...

*I got on Matt when he had one vote

*I stayed on him for the entire day

*A lot of flak was thrown at me claiming I had non-legit reasons for voting Matt

*I passed up an opportunity to re-assess my vote and potentially move it when asked

*I passed up the opportunity to shift to Zak when I could have made a tying vote

But most importantly, we get zero information from lynching him now. We're right back at the Q/Novice/Lewwyn triad tomorrow, whatever Sunrise flips. If we think Sunrise is scum then lets pressure him from the get-go tomorrow and get everybody to give their opinion, then if he flips scum we at least get some information from it.

Good start Adrien! Keep em coming. Do you think sunrise is being lazy or do you think he's scum hiding? That's what I meant by taking ownership: take a stand

Qgqqqqq after reading novice and Lewwyn today

I'm out for a coffee break. Back in a few hours.

I've had Lewwyn in the village camp since day 2. But in catching up on the trading this morning I had the same thought.

Novice

What happened here Saul?

I don't feel good about Q as a lynch candidate, but absent my own reads I'm going with people I trust. I woke and laying in bed was reading what you were thinking about a gaspar/lewwyn/novice team and I had been wondering the same thing. So i thought I'd tie novice and Q and see what happened. Didn't realize sunrise and lewwyn had 2 votes each, thought it was going to be 4v4v1v1, so it's not quite as clear cut as I would like.

The other thought I have going on right now is that absent any good reads I'm probably going to just vote for one of our lurkers. So either back to Q or on to sunrise. Or maybe I won't, I haven't been a fan of novice until today. It was only this morning I thought he sounded more townish.

I'd really like to hear novice's thoughts on the game now that he isn't voting Q. Maybe they were done before and I need to re-read; it probably isn't smart to vote right when you wake up.

Ugh, clearly I didn't factor in downside risk at all when signing up. I lurked 35 so well that I felt I could play in 36 easily...and apparently I was an idiot and didn't consider how much went right to let me do that last game.

Qgqqqqq . I'm also willing to consider Lewwyn, though I prefer Q barring new information. I don't like the novice case based on what I've seen, though I'm also not fully caught up. I'm going to try to stay engaged through vote via phone, but I don't honestly know how many of the pages I'm behind I'll be able to read.

I would hate being played like that.

So that is what goes on behind my enigmatic facade, and as a consequence my instinct is to escape the conundrum by finding scum outside the q/lewwyn/gaspar trifecta. I don't know who that would be though, but I do know that Sunrise deserves to hang if he keeps lurking while I'm struggling with these conflicts. And if he flips scum I can breathe again.

If Sunrise makes an appearance I may just have to take my chances on a Q lynch. Or maybe this post self-incriminates further and I'll just have to vote for self defense. That would solve my conundrum too.

I get what you're saying here Novice, and if you're town I sympathise with the situation you are in. But if you fear that you are on a town Q, why doesn't that make Gaspar or Lewwyn plausible votes for you? I get focusing on Q, I get having doubts and taking a gamble at Lewwyn, I don't get the logic of jumping completely away and going for a low information lurker lynch.

What do you mean by absent your own reads? Didn't you have Adrien down as scum? Why aren't you able to follow your own instincts here?

Well I'm not sure it's completely rational, but I guess that would just feel like I'm restarting a vicious circle. We really should lynch Q, and if he flips town I'll just have to defend. But delaying the decision for a justified policy lynch would be acceptable game theory, and if Sunrise flipped scum that would have the advantage of giving me much needed town cred.

I'm deadly serious that you can't just not post on a critical day 3.

At any rate Sunrise has resurfaced, and while he hasn't contributed, at least he's left a footprint by putting down a tiebreaking vote.

So. Qgqqqqq.
I have to run.

And actually, I do think Gaspar and Lewwyn have had their townish moments today, I'm just terrified that I'm being manipulated into doing the scum's dirty work.

There's an odd circularity to my hesistance on Qqqqqq, when my too-easy arg to not lynch him successfully gets other candidates on the block... does that invalidate the arg?
