Also, we really never talked about which way we want to send our scout. Do we want to SIP and then decide, or just head west to unveil the land around the Stone site?

Scouting : SW S this turn then it scouts around us then go meet people.
City naming : battles where French and American troops have either fought each other (starting with the 13 colonies and the French-British wars of the 18th century) or fought side by side (starting with the war of independance). While independently good I'm nut sure I understand why you wouldn't want the double speed SA, his goal will be to build them everywhere. And when he picked he had all the org leaders available. I'd have taken Julius or Mehmed, definitely. ORG+SA is synergistic and anti-synergistic at the same time. Anti-synergistic in the sense that ORG saves only 0.5*90=45 hammers instead of normal 60 you get with courthouses... But obviously 45 hammer SAs would be awesome builds --> I won't blame anyone for picking ORG Aztecs, but I think it's also fine to prioritize other traits and kind of grab SAs as an additional bonus. That 30 hammer reduction is even more useful in RtRMod as whipping is nerfed and it's more difficult to get costly infra in place. When it comes to SA's reduced whip cooldown RtR kind of makes the the building weaker as whipping economies are generally weaker, but on the other hand SA allows one to make more use of unnerfed 1-pop whips.
Oops, minor threadjack, here goes.

My thread is short, that's about the only reason I can recommend it. I posted well for a while during a war and a bit during the early game, then I vanished. There wasn't a whole lot interesting going on for a while anyway, there's only so much to show with one city. If you need recommended reading ask in the lurker thread, I'm sure there are plenty of good threads. Or just go for the known good reporters. Those are probably the threads with the highest view count. ![]() On topic...your naming scheme could be UUs (or more generically, things, or less generically, French or American things) you don't like. Capital..Jaguar (or...people...or....French or American people?) ![]() Played: Pitboss 18 - Kublai Khan of Germany Somalia | Pitboss 11 - De Gaulle of Byzantium | Pitboss 8 - Churchill of Portugal | PB7 - Mao of Native America | PBEM29 Greens - Mao of Babylon
Problem is that I like most UUs and UBs in some way, I hope we'll come to a point where I'll run out of bad UU/UB names.

I like Adrien's idea since your French and American hosts here do haggle quite a bit before reaching solidarity. Do you want to come up with a list of names, Adrien? My only idea was "movie titles that sound like cities but are not necessarily cities." We could open with Metropolis and then Chicago (second city, 2002 Oscar winner, home city!) then have names like Papillon, Spartacus and Chinatown available, among many more. I am fine with either though..... (March 10th, 2015, 11:48)Donovan Zoi Wrote: I like Adrien's idea since your French and American hosts here do haggle quite a bit before reaching solidarity. Do you want to come up with a list of names, Adrien? Yes sir ! If we do it chronologically we have to start with the Augsburg league war (you may know it as King William's war) where troops from Quebec razed Corlar and made two raids on Salmon Falls and Casco. Then it's the capture of Louisbourg by soldiers from New England in the Austrian succession war. Then we have tons of names from the French and Indian war before we get to the war of independence. Here are the FaIW names : Jumonville Glen (minor skirmish where George Washington killed 10 Canadians including the French General Jumonville) Fort Necessity (Washington capitulates to Jumonville's brother) Fort Niagara Fort Duquesne (later renamed Fort Pitt, then Pittsburgh ![]() Lake George/Fort Edward Fort Oswego Fort William Henry Fort Carillion Fort Frontenac Abraham Plains Quebec Sainte-Foy Montréal Détroit Not all are important, especially in the beginning. Then it's the war of independence, but that's enough for the beginning isn't it ? |
