We already have gold but I'm thinking that it can only help us to give him free view of the whole map. I declined for now since we can always reoffer and since CH made peace with johns after capturing a city. Elum took a coastal city off Grimace, who has Construction and Wellies.

So, Theology for AP and gear up to take a chunk out of Adrien?

Can't see the trade offer at work, so won't comment. In general I'd say our natural allies are Grimace and either CH or AgentJohns. Maybe we should also be looking at a low-risk way to distract Elum ... although "poke the Bear" probably isn't really the wisest course!

We're still in the gold-saving phase. By end of this turn we have enough gold to 2T CS or we can go for 2T Theology.

I'm still not sure about the order. There is something to be said for Machinery first followed by building troops while researching Theology since with Feudalism we get 5 exp for 2 promos units - both naval and land - and 7/5 does nothing much. On the other hand it may be better to run Bureaucracy/Theology in which case an earlier Theology is better (or since our capital isn't that awesome and since we get cheap Stables we can go for Feudalism/Theology for 9 exp mounted units with free Flanking I, though HAs aren't that awesome in the age of LB).

I could use input on filler locations (especially S of TP) and order of settling them (we settle marble next turn). I think we should stick to playing after Elum though I don't think there's an issue with popping in just to take a look as we're not in an official turnsplit anyway.

Elum fired another GA and swapped to Mercantilism Because of this and Grimace getting Maces, I decided to go for the CS +Machinery path, but going 1T IW instead of 2T CS since we couldn't swap to Bureaucracy immediately. Our Irons are...under a Town at The Hub (so it's no longer that mediocre a capital) and...


I'll just let that pass without comment.

In other news, we finally met Whoist (a unit of his saw our borders and moved out of sight). He offered OB and I accepted which resulted in another +17 increase in cpt. Johns offered his map for free so I reoffered map for map. He seems to be winning the naval war against Adrien who doesn't have Triremes yet
