So who wants to jump off the edge, do something stupid and provide some actual content for us to discuss?
Or we could do an experiment where we just vote to lynch without actually discussing real content. I mean that's how they do it elsewhere. Basically everyone just keeps talking to a minimum, votes shift and then the actual hunting gets done based off the Day 1 lynch and Night 1 kill.

I'm good at stupid! In all seriousness though, with the exception of the Brick game, I never know what to say the first day. Barring someone saying something really off, like Saul and misremembering dtay, there really isn't much to go on. Even that wasn't overly helpful, as Saul was innocent, and the response it engendered in dtay was forgotten within a day or two. Since Bob wasn't kind enough to give us anything meta to argue about.... Damn you Bob.

Meta annoys me. But what the heck.
Been balancing some 13p setups lately for other people. If the roles are randomized, as the Chiller implies, then scum setup could be 3/13, 4/13, 2/2/13, or 3/1/13. 4/13 seems a bit strong, but it is role madness. However I suspect it'll be 3/1/13, with the 1 having something weird to compensate. This is because he chose 13 as the specific number to aim for, and 13 is the number where a single player third faction becomes workable in the balance. 2/2/13 is probably second after that.
How many times must I discharge my blunderbuss?

3/13 seems like it would be a pretty easy game for us under normal circumstances. With power roles added though, even randomized ones, I suppose that it could be balanced a bit more evenly for the scum. This is of course assuming Bob would "reroll" if the roles unbalanced things too much. 3/1/13 seems like it makes the our job a bit harder in the long run, which should make it more fun. I agree that 4/13 would make it rough, but as long as we got enough good rolls we could still give the ____ (I'm not sure what we are calling them, as I can't tell which side is which out of Bob's description text) a run for their money.
Sadly, I think this about exhausts all possible meta analysis Also, it wasn't every helpful. For all we know it could be a 3/3/3/1/1/1/1 setup or something equally freaky.

We could force someone to claim and take it from there.

The Glum is best persuaded by honeyed words and a gentle touch, rather than the promise of violence. But in these dark times, I fear the traditional pleasantries are dead.
Fenn, you're voting for Dtay. Since he's announced he can't be around much this week, do you think he makes a good target to get rid of early?

Pretty please, Gazglum, with sugar on top. You've been a proponent of early claims before.
@Goreripper. I think you were blowing my attack on Agnes out of proportion. Let me put things in perspective for you.

While I agree with you on the principle I think it is better to focus our attention on people we don't have a read or don't get an easy read on. Gaz does show his villagerness usually quite clearly.

Some possible issues with getting anything other than a "list of people scum want to murder" out of a mass claim:
- Roles might be repeated; don't expect you are the only ___ (Insert Role Here).
- Alignment and roles are separated, so scum might have a more village role and vice versa.
- The only information revealed when a player dies is their faction’s name and role title- no information is provided concerning their specific abilities
So, not only is the only thing we can actually confirm about claimed roles their titles, but role itself tells us precisely nothing about alignment AND there is no provable response to claiming a duplicate role to someone else.
Simply put, I do not think a mass claim is all that wise at this stage. Even if it would encourage the discussion that has been rather lacking thus far.

Being forced to claim first can still be uncomfortable for scum. Particularly on day one, before you've seen any flips.
