Dang, wish I would have seen that. scumhunt: activate, indeed

You don't? I agree with Zak that that feels disingenious. I think any scum would feel trepidation at claiming first no matter what assurances the GM has given.

As was obvious. That said, if you're impersonating me, why are you asking me how to play day 1 as scum?

I agree with that. But the real problem (and most likely the reason we never did it) is in which sequence to do the reveals. IMO scum have little to fear if they are the last to claim.

We lynched a lurker first night in the last game and it worked well enough, but that was dumb freaking luck and we shouldn't count on that again. By all means, if we have nothing better, I'd be ok lynching the wolf that almost won last game, but only absent a better option.

That's always the question right? If Zak has a damn good town power role, he is going to be potentially hurt more than scum would be by being forced to claim. Scum can lie, and have a group to work with on framing their lie. Town has to cop to exactly what they are, because if they don't, later on if they change their story they will be killed. If they have a good role, they are going to be killed anyway because scum now knows a valuable target.

Forgot to respond to this last night, and the conversation about lurking brought it to mind.

Another player reminded Q that I existed. Q was excited, because we hadn't seen each other in ages. And so...here I am.
What I meant by this was that, assuming you play in character, you're going to be acting a lot differently than the Qg that we know, thus it will be harder to read. Add that to your lurking and you'd make a great wolf this game, whether or not they are related :P

I'd vote Shadeun for not checking in, but I don't want the new guy to feel piled on. So for now I'll keep my vote on Qg's "friend" (you know its wrong to abuse the trust of those who have been victimized in the past right Qg?) because a skilled player that is able to lurk and play differently than normal is as good a place as any for a vote to reside for now.

I've told him, but he's away this weekend and I haven't heard from him. I'm hoping he'll check in sometime this evening.

Well I thought about impersonating you as town impersonating you as scum, but i worried some fidelity might be lost in all those transactions. Let me know if you have any insights.
Jabbz, I know that there's not much to go on yet, but Q's not exactly piling on the Dickensian roleplaying. And he has an avergae amount of posts, he's not lurking. And he picked Agnes before he got his role. And I don't remember you going after Doctor Saul for smurfing last game, and Commodore is doing it this game too. So your reasoning feels a bit weak.

Q may not be lurking, but his posts are one pointless meta post and one unconvincing anti-mass claim post.

I didn't know Saul was someone's alt for a while last game, until at least a couple of days in. I'd never played with Pindi either. I know he isn't lurking atm, but he did say it was something that was coming. Also, as you will note, I said it gives the potential to get some advantages, not that he was scum. Besides, I really REALLY just wanted an excuse to throw that line about her being his "friend" and taking advantage of her :P
