I've made my feelings known that I don't believe commagore to be the best lynch.

Before the lynch happened?

That seems a bit obtuse. I think I've been very clear today I don't think that was the right way to go. When I went to bed A) I wasn't very articulate and I was very clear on my own opinions at that time B) there were still what 7 hours left on the clock? and any number of things could have happened at the time I went to bed.

If we believe Commodore which I find hard todo. What with his pledge to play pro-scum all the way?

When he was lynched his role was revealed. He was not lying about the name, he wasn't lying about being a third party, I do not see why he would lie about his powers, to me they match basically everything he said. Even if he said he would work with scum, he can only scan one person a night. If he scans a villager whats he going to do confirm a villager? Ok great. If he scans scum whats he going to do? Out the scum or get hanged? It seems to me his abilities would revert towards pro-town. He wouldn't be able to communicate in secret with scum. Hard to work with them without everyone else seeing...

Yes, that's strange to me as well.

Shadeun has been quiet during the day and then more active during the night, which is not a typical pattern for scum. And I don't get the sense that he's nervous. So he doesn't really fit the noobscum profile, in my mind. Slight town lean, perhaps.

I have no actual read on Dtay, just meta WIFOM about whether or not scum would really really lurk so hard. That's certainly not how he played it as scum last time.

I don't think Lewwyn is saying that Fenn should have considered his unstated feelings about Goreripper. He's just saying that it's suspicious how Fenn attacked Novice for going after Goreripper and then eventually hammered in the last nail himself, calling it a net win. At least that's how I'm parsing it.

Preview: I see Lewwyn has also answered for himself now, so I can stop debating whether or not to do so on his behalf. smile

Yeah. I didn't mean that Fenn should have known what I was thinking about Commagore, but that his actions were in opposition.

Maybe I should have labelled the 3rd part, 2.5 to avoid confusion?

My question was a light reminder to you that you didn't speak up before the lynch. Hindsight is always 20/20.
Telling the town that you didn't see xy as best lynch after the lynch happened and the role is revealed smells very much like scum telling town how stupid they are wink .

I see no reason to believe his powers. I see no reasons to not suspect other victory-conditions.
He was a journalist I'm sure he had ways to get interviews with scum ( perhaps neighbouriser? ). Note how he claimed he would use his scan to blackmail scum which needs communication.
Explain to me why he never tried to work with town if he really wins with us. Tell me how being a 3 times immune Alignment- seer has no interest in aiding town if he wins with it. Tell me who is a better lynch than someone who clearly tells us he will work with scum and use his powers pro-scum.

Maybe it would have been better or not mentioning your feeling about the goreripper-lynch at all. It is that part that sets me off.

He lurks harder now but I'm more after his voting + missing to reread/change vote pattern which I don't like.

If I was compos mentis I would have been more articulate in saying that before the lynch. Honestly, I think the town was stupid if in fact it was the town lynching him.

Fine, I believe his powers. I don't have any proof and I can't say anything to his other victory conditions. Maybe he was lying, but then why not keep him alive a night, test him, see what we can wring out of him, and if he doesn't work with us we just lynch him?

Although I did just have a thought. I guess he could scan scum and then tell us that he scanned them and they are a villager. Thereby getting the whole scum team and villagers who believed him like me to not lynch him or the scum. Which would be bad. Can't believe I didn't think about that.

Okay. Maybe you're right. Commagore might have been dangerous to both scum and town in which case, both have an interest in ending them.

I still think Fenn is suspicious for attacking novice for voting Commagore and then voting Commagore himself.

Seems like the root cause is still just that he is posting infrequently. It's bad behavior, but is he more likely to behave like that as scum than as town? At least he is voting early in the day.

Ok, so maybe I do have a slight read: Yesterday he explicitly said that he would change his vote and then didn't. But he could have changed to Goreripper, so there's probably no tactical reason for why he would need to stay on Mattimeo. So that seems like a needless bit of scummy behavior, if he's scum. "Too scummy to be scum" is obviously not the greatest of town points, though.
