Insecticide O Alpha bug report

Lucean, I have suggested that many saves with crashes are useless.
Did you even use my last fixed exe I posted just before your posts?

I loaded the file and applied both Magic.exe and Wizards.exe to my game.
I'm not sure what I'm supposed to do other than play the game and try to notice any oddities.

Try starting from a new game, not a saved one.
If nothing happens in 20-50 turns, start another new game.
Only the people crazy enough to think they can change the world of Arcanus and Myrror can do it. rolleye

That's what I did.
I copied my previous magic.exe and wizards.exe and replaced them with the ones from 1.40o2.
Then I modified the number of starting picks,
started a new game
used the tweaker to add some minerals to my starting position
and played the game.

Very nice! toast

So in gamesave you previously posted, did you use the Archery mod or the Queue mod? Can you edit or repost the error found and the mod used? smile

Wait ... so using the two modified *.exe was not enough? Could not using them be responsible for all those bugs I encountered?
Seems as if I wasted your and my time ... sorry.

Patience, guys. We are getting there.
Another major (stupid) bug corrected, related to building of buildings and messages.
It should be 100x more stable, let's see how much 100x represents.

Lucean, try to understand me, I am not a professional programmer neither the author nor the seller of this eternally bugged software. I am doing it in my spare time, for zero reward, by means of rude editing of assembly code. You are not a professional tester neither nor etc. OK, if we can help each other, all the better, no? I'll try to use some of your testing information (I did already), you try to follow some of my advice as to what is helpful. That is my suggestion.

I didn't mean to complain, not in the slightest!
I just thought that the files you posted earlier were necessary. But since they are also "wizards.exe" that was dumb from me.

So testing, this time without tweaker and adjusting number of starting picks cool

I only had one city for quite some turns.
- I didn't encounter any changes to the current build order.
- Upon completing it sometimes changed to something different than what was queued. It also happened that I could produce units not possible for my town selection (Hammerhands, Dark Elf Swordsman)
- No crashes, no unexplained city deaths

Edit:
- two crashes so far upon trying to change the build order
- no announcement on city growth for my capital
- twice the option to build a warrior mage

Hi, I had this again as well.
I need to find the source of that Dark Elf Swordsman / Hammerhands thing.
Please, try to find out:
a) in which slot does the unit appear at first? Is it always the second slot?
b) when exactly does ithe apparition occur? Can you find out what (player behaviour, interface usage or anything else happening in the game) is related to an apparition of this kind of units in the queue? It clearly does not happen every turn, is not an automatic thing.

At least the direct crashes are less frequent, otherwise, still not there and I am starting to run out of ideas as to what is wrong frown

I had it mostly in the first slot, but encountered it once for the second.
I'll try to keep an eye out.

I shortly had the hope it might be related to getting access to new units in the production. It might be that buildings count, too, but I can't be sure.

Another thing that might be causing the city deaths:
Getting too much population growth. My village of Timberland has Gaia's Blessing and Population Boom, yet loses population. I built Housing in my capital and didn't encounter this, even with Gaia's Blessing on. So maybe it's growth in relation to maximum population (because I had it in earlier games, too)?

Edit:
ok, not directly connected to updates in the build option. I completed the Forester's Guild and the next object after the Temple changed from Sage's Guild to Settlers frown
