WW37- For Whom the Bell Trolls

In fact the non-fascist scum-party has now a good shot to win. They can push lynches easier than the fascist and since they can coordinate they can do it simpler than town.

Ok, I guess that last sentence is your point. Maybe that's true. But even if it's never easy for town to coordinate, it probably does get easier as the total number of players is reduced.

In any case I'm glad we lynched a fascist. Even if it should help any non-fascist scum factions, I think it also helps town.
If you know what I mean.

Somewhat appropriate given our game. smile

It was all cloudy in London where I am. Was kinda dark compared to yesterday though (or so it seemed).

I agree, the size of the train on Gazglum is quite disconcerting. Does no one have any other suspicions to bring forth? Any thoughts on his content - on the novice case, for example?

I think he's easily the strongest suspect, and I don't think his play today has been much of an improvement. I feel like the reason he's lost votes is largely because it was formed so early in the day, and because people were scared as to how easily it took off. I disagree. I don't think it took off because he's village, I think it took off because scum saw the size of early support and thought it would be best to jump on (bandwagoning early if lynch, or, more likely, watching it collapse under its own weight). I need to read up on who exactly goes on that list, though.

But for those people who jumped off, why did you do so? Did Gazglum become any less suspicious, did he really address the points on him? I'm going to get to his replies in a moment, but I really do think that most of the move was prompted by simple inertia.

Rereading, this stood out. The second post is the next RL day for Agnes. Agnes, why wasn't the early Gazglum wagon disconcerting after all?

It seems clear that the novel is the inspiration for the setup, and that the poem is the inspiration for the novel's title.

The novel is about "the brutality of civil war", and there is certainly room for multiple scum factions given that plot summary.

Sure, there's no explicit reference to a cult in the plot summary, but there's nothing about a war reporter, either.

Read George Orwell's "Homage to Catalonia"; it's his own account of fighting in the Spanish Civil War. Things start off great when all of the different factions fighting against Franco, but when the sides turn in each other to gain the upper hand coming out of the war it gets messed up fast. Orwell believed they could have won against Franco if each faction hadn't tried to turn against each other to get the upper hand first.

No idea if Bob had any of this in mind when designing the game, but he does imply we're being trolled in the title.

Combined with Rowain's thoughts on the poem ... could it imply the win condition is to vote No Lynch? I've heard of trolly setups done where that was the case. Whether we're all wiling to take the risk of giving up a day lynch to test that out is another story

So far no answer from Lewwyn or my question.

Interesting also that nobody else did comment upon it.

The second night was met with great trepidation...

And yet nobody died.

There were no fatalities.

...

At daybreak the assembled found a second mysterious note prominently posted on front door of the village inn. It read:

I'm running, belabored. Who knew that being dead could be so much work? And yet...there is so much to follow up on, so many clues to look at.

I yell at the top of my lungs:

"Dipwits! This is not a drill! There's evidence for a cult, I've found someone who's power is they can't be converted. Maybe this is just paranoia, but I'm putting two and two together. Work it out!"

Before running off into the mist.

The source was once again uncertain.

I can reduce days to 24 hours following a majority of players voting in favor. Switch will take place on the (in game) day following the vote.

If that is something you all want to vote on, do it in green.

Well, I can breath and think again it appears. I'm still tired as hell, but I'm alive, which I wasn't sure I would be absent so long. I've got a lot of reading to catch up on it looks like, so I'll post more when I do that, no promises as to how soon though.
