So apparently it's important that I notice that Northstar's traits swapped from one mostly-useless set to another useless set. He made sure to ask me twice if I'd noticed. What's next? He going to ask me if I notice when his units get eaten by a grue? If he gets a haircut? I guess if he wants to share things, that's his prerogative.
He's now Org/Arc/um...can't recall. Something underwhelming. Although honestly, it's not like Fin/Rai was doing much for him on T11, either.
In more important news, the RNG smiled on us! Not really an event fund, but at least the beginnings of one.

There's an easy way to fix that, y'know ![mischief mischief](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/mischief.gif)
I could even dedlurk him then! Granted, he'd have to deal with feedback every 25 turns, so I couldn't give him much tactical advice, but he seems solid on tactics anyway.
I'd enjoy ded-lurking him too
I purposefully chose settings for my duel with him so that he has time to experience building with T2 techs in peace before the hammer falls. He seems like a great addition to the community.

A turn a day for three days! I'm not going to get used to this, but it does mean it's worth a report.
Our scout's found a bunch of good stuff...sadly along with a very extensive sea. He hasn't been able to head west per the plan. OTOH, it's good to know what's down here. Also good: he killed a lion this turn for 3XP. It isn't much, but it's a start.
Meanwhile, at home, elven workers be slow! Already working on a second, because it was that or plan to work unimproved tiles. Granted, part of the problem is the floodplains. And part of the problem is the super-nice growth rate enabled by wet agrarian rice.
Also built another scout, this one's headed NW. I want to get a presence established near Northstar ASAP, and it's looking like the only route may be northern. Plus, of course, more map knowledge is good.

Only one question: why Exploration so soon, if the next few cities will be planted along that river? I guess it'll help to avoid wasting worker turns... but Education will pay off big.

Mostly...playing late at night and not thinking too much ![wink wink](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/wink2.gif) . With a side order of wanting resources connected, but realistically that only matters for the gold, and not soon.
So I think you're right, I'll swap to the Edu path next turn. Cottages, starting my scouts with Shock/Subdue, those are both more important than roads for the moment.

Well, we're up to T16 now. Nothing new. I'm really starting to doubt this game will ever finish.

Wow, according to your last pic, you're averaging like one turn/week? It certainly won't finish with that rate.

It fluctuates. Average is 17 turns/6 weeks = 3 turns/week, but only two turns in the last two weeks.
But even a turn a day would be iffy for finishing on time with a map this big.
Is your duel with him doing any better for pace?

Sadly not. So far I've only played 2 turns of that game (average has been turn per week!), and I sent the last save back 5 days ago ![banghead banghead](https://www.realmsbeyond.net/forums/images/smilies/banghead.gif) .

Made it to T17 yesterday. With a little 'sorry for the delay' note, but not even an acknowledgment of the tech thread complaints. Doesn't bode well.
