[Lurkers]WW 38: Judging a Player by his Cover

Hello all.

Special not for this game: I have a separate planning/spoiled QT that I've used for making the game and for any lurker or dead players that neeeeed to know the setup. If you would like access to the QT, please PM me for the link.

Since that option is available, this thread is strict no spoilers (if you happen to know any).

Thanks. smile

Also, is it bad I only recognized 6 of the characters by name? scared

Maybe Brick, but I think that's more than I recognized at first.

How heavily modified is the setup? I noticed that the main thread didn't state how large the scum faction is and how much KP it has, or if there are any 3rd-party factions. Is that customary for games here, or is it meant to keep the players in the dark? Ditto on abilities not being revealed upon death. It will be very interesting to see how many phases before MYLO/LYLO there are smile

The setup is created entirely from scratch, not created or modified from anything else. Whilst that's not the case of every game here, it would be the case of the majority.

Statements describing what the setup will contain are at the whim of the GM, but normally fall on the side of nothing being revealed at all.

Abilities not being revealed on death is a recent fad.

I can't comment further because I'm spoiled. I recommend reading a past game if you want to see how games are normally run here, perhaps WW20, off which this is based.

Clearly you spend too much time on minor priorities like feeding your family and entertaining RB, and not enough time reading. nono You should inform the players that this game will be delayed until you read *all* of the source material mischief

I only blanked on four of them, although I admit several others are 'know of' but not 'read'. I expect I'll be changing that ratio shortly.

I don't think we're really settled on a standard approach. Some games are easier to recruit for than others, depending on who volunteers to host and what they propose as a game.

Alright, if the WW20 setup is used as a point of reference, then then there are lots of reasonable power roles in the game, but nothing too swingy. I'm looking forward to the fireworks.

I'm hoping to have the next one, and I'm petrified no one is going to trust me to try to run it :P

Worst case, just do a public setup, something straightforward.

That's my plan, nothing too crazy, so that I can cut my teeth in relative peace.
