[SPOILERS]Specialist of Everything: JC of the Zulu

The war is still going on, I've razed a few of Gavagai's coastal cities, most were undefended.




Moved my troops next to Armageddon.




Seriously thought about leaving this city up, so I can get an access to Gavagai's inland sea to threaten more cities, but ultimately decided that it's too risky and razed the city.

Next turn I will be able to take a swipe at Gavagai's capital, let's see how well he defends it.

I'm now paying quite a bit money for all my troops.




Good thing is that the city capture gold is helping out. mischief

I also got a Great Engineer this turn at around 43% odds. Hopefully that will help me secure the Internet in the future. Tech path is now Radio-> Plastics-> Computers.

In the mod I am almost 100% sure that it is changed to a wonder rather than a project.

How much is GJ helping? How much are you willing to let him have from this conquest? What will push your decision toward keeping cities instead of razing?

Like BGN said, the Internet is a now a wonder that gives +15% beakers in all cities. This will help me greatly for a space race.

GJ was able to weaken Gavagai's destroyer stack at the start of the war,otherwise I would not have had the freedom in the seas. Gavagai already rebounded back to something like 45 destroyers now that I can see. If he had a 70 destroyer stack then I wouldn't be able to threaten his cities like the way I have.

As to how much he's going to get, that depends more on Gavagai than anything else. Gavagai still have more land and pop than either of us and his production is basically even with me despite losing like 10% of his cities. With railroads everywhere, it's hard for me to keep the cities without exposing myself to a counter attack, he does have a decent number of artilleries sitting around. I can only keep cities after making sure they are safe from recapture. I wonder if fighters can destroy railroads? Or could bombers? I should probably test it out.

I've got a few settlers on the way to resettle Gavagai's former lands. The goal is to establish a forward base for bombers that I will be able to build in 3(?) turns.

I'm building the Eiffel Tower and RnR, because...why not? I should at least deny it to people that may try for a culture win. The Cristo Redentor seems like a useless wonder to me, since I have no need to swap civics again.

Anyways, I'm GJ signing peace with Gavagai is a turning point in this game. This forces me to sign peace with Gavagai also, because there's no way for me to push deeper into Gavagai's territory without massive losses, since GJ is no longer threatening Gavagai's western empire and Gavagai can focus all his forces in my direction.

Unfortunately, I think the opportunity to take down Gavagai as the leading civ in the game will not come again. Yes, we definitely hurt him a lot by razing his capital, but he will recover now because he has such a huge land advantage.

Can I win?It's definitely possible, I currently have the best tech rate out of anyone with the tech lead (I have Flight and Radio over everyone). However, I think Gavagai will recover economically. Plako and Dtay could catch up after they roll over Commodore. GJ might win if he can stop all the other front runners from winning. Personally, I don't think my position is favoured to win because my civ has already reached most of its full potential.

Extremely profitable, take a look at this:




This city costs about 8 gold per turn factoring in inflation but it net me 6 gpt through wealth and 20 beakers. So for around 80 gold start up cost for the settler (I'm Imp for cheap settlers), after spending 10 turns building a courthouse. A net cost of 2 gold for 20 beakers is a very good deal.

The cities I have in the south pole is even cheaper because I have the Forbidden Palace in one of the former Furungy cities to cut down the distance maintenance.

Btw airlifting units is pretty cool. Teleporting a unit 30 tiles away can be very useful...
