It would have been better to move through the city- as forests cannot grow onto tiles with units on them (and a forest growing onto either of those hills would have been nice)
As far as I know, forests can't spread through diagonal tiles, so there's no way a forest can grow in the grassland hill 1W of Jubilee without first having a spread to the tile 1NW. So, there's really no problem in having the worker there, there's no way a forest would spread there on that specific turn. The plains hill is a different story, though.
Oh.
Good reasoning about the forests, by the way. I tend to think of forests growing as always being a good thing (biased, perhaps in part, by my love of the civ game Alpha Centauri- where forests are much better)- but you guys have made some valid points...
My other, better reason why moving through the city tile was better was that it provided the option to go and set up a wet Grassland Farm instead of a Winery. If something happened to change optimal strategy (like a forest growing onto the Wines tile- delaying the winery by 3 turns) then it would have been optimal to Farm there instead.

If you projected any harder you'd have PowerPoint slides coming out of your ass.
Honest question: if the entirety of the RB community bothers you so, why are you still here?
*Most* people argue from their feelings. It was the first thing I learned when taking a Rhetoric and Writing class my freshman year in college... It just seems to be a more pronounced tendency here than I would expect from a community of strategy gamers- who I would expect to be a more logical crowd...

Forests(/jungles) don't grow on tiles which they can't spawn on naturally. That includes Wines.
Oh and the obligatory

OK, another turn:
We have Skeleton problems, it seems. We'll have to dispatch one of our Warriors to deal with it- maybe that turn spent completing a Warrior instead of starting the Settler wasn't so wasted after all (although there was still no legitimate reason not to immediately swap into Agrarianism...)
Meanwhile, our Scout fair durst search for wolf packs here and there! (honestly, though, try to avoid the Wolves until he's fully-healed, and thne try to be the one attacking for the extra XP...)
Our rivals have quickly caught up in population:
But we're falling behind in Demographics- hence why I was so concerned over losing all those foodhammers from Agrarianism and a delayed Settler before... Even a small additional slip-up and we're sure to be quickly knocked out of the game:
Clownish glee, clowns are free- slaves what hast thy pale bloody masters to say to thee?
The vampires will be the #1 threat early on due to their strong economy- but it's the Orcs (with their incredibly over-powered Warrens) that I'm most worried about in the long run...

Alright, well I left a sign for you on what to do next, and I think you're more than capable of handling the next couple turns Old Lion!
I'll try to make the play-window tomorrow, but you're free to play the next turn during the day if it comes around when you have the chance, and another after that if it comes around by my play-window or I miss it. Basically, just explore northwestwards with the Scout, sticking to the coast and hills or other defensive terrain at the end of each turn where possible...

I played a turn. I did exactly nothing (the scout was out of move for some reason) and nothing happened, except wolves and skelleton approaching.

Ummm, the Scout was out of moves? That shouldn't have happened- must have been a bug.
Anyways, it appears you forgot to send the actual save on, according to Tasunke's report- so I'll load it up now and replay it to avoid any delays for the rest...

OK, ummmm, I'm not sure what you meant about the Scout having no moves Old Lion. He was fortifying to heal, and I had to unfortify him to give him the chance to move- but there was nothing wrong with his ability to move...
Also, I decided to take a more proactive response to the Skeleton. I moved the Warrior *not* carrying the Jade Torc to the Hills/Forest/Grassland east of the capital. Next turn, just have him stand still.
IF the Skelie moves into the forest to the NW at the end of next turn, the turn after that withdraw the Warrior back to the city, and move the Warrior there due north across the river (so we can attack the Skelie if he moves onto the corn without having to attack across a river). If the Skelie moves anywhere else, just have the Warrior continue to stay still and fortify in place...
All this in case I can't make a future turn.
By the way, Top 5 Cities and Demographics:
As you can see, the Calabim (most likely) have already grown to size 6. We need to be VERY aggressive about our economic growth to try and keep up- especially after losing that turn on the Settler before thanks to the whole Agrarianism/Settler botched turns deal...

Old Lion, I received this e-mail this afternoon (sent at 2:07 PM) with the next save attached:
"played and sent. no event outside ancient chants discovered"
You do realize that was also sent to the tracker- you've just let the rest of the PBEM know *exactly* what we are teching.
Please try to avoid revealing such information in the future. It gives the other players an unfair advantage...
