Ellimist tells me he's being besieged by a upgraded spectre. He's also found Bob and is ar war with him. Also he complains about his land frequently (with good reason).
One thing I think Ichabod is missing is that between priests and godking, he'll have a very decent surplus in gold, as well as possible benefits from huts and lairs. I think it might shave a few turns off I he founded another city - even just for river and trade route bonus. Might even help produce a GPro, too.

Yeah, I'd think that a 2nd city would help the time. I obviously haven't simmed it out, but a second city working nothing but food and cottages should pay itself back many times over in the time frame he's in. Just settle the corn + cotton site, and get the happy boost in the capital too => more hammers for building the prophecy which I think is a limiting factor.
He's not going education, though. And he can't - it screws up one of the bulbs (iirc)
