Lets see the random/random picks

Quote:Khan as Isabella (Exp, Spi) of Native America
HitAnyKey as Suleiman (Phi, Imp) of Celtia
Commodore as Churchill (Cha, Pro) of Carthage
Sian as Stalin (Agg, Ind) of Arabia
Brick as Alexander (Phi, Agg) of Zulu

noone that really springs out as great combos for starters.

Khan might well have the best one simply because of Isabella being decently good, but given that ammount of micromanagement Spi needs, its an open question if he can leavage it into anything (don't know him well enough to say anything on that account.

HKP have a reasonable leader as well, although one i'd never use (but thats just me never feeling like i'm getting enough for my bucks trying to pull off the specialist game), while Celtic is quite ... wouldn't say bad since it certainly have uses having fast hills within opponent territory, but question is if it fits the playstyle around here. Gallic Warrior is 'merely' more of the same, anti-synergising with Duns.

Commodore have a meh leader, although certainly a protential defensive powerhouse, which Commodore certainly is good enough to leavage into something useful. Cathage is somewhat map dependent, but its picked often enough for Numids by itself, although they need a bit of tactical accumen to use... also something which Commodore have.

My luck of the dice is somewhat terribad ... Stalin gives Aggessive, which gives a bit of a push in offensive melee, and a bit on defensive as well (mainly by giving spears and axes C1, defending that bit better) and Industrious which at least i'm the only one with, so if the map lets me i could consider throwing myself into wonderwhoring for select wonders, although which would depend on the map. Arabia gives me Camel Archer which is a rather boring Knight upgrade (no synergy with Aggessive), gaining +15% withdraw chance and aren't dependent on resources, which given the random map might actually be useful if my diceluck are horrible. And Madrassa which is a Libary which gains +2 Priest slots and another +2cpt.

Brick gains Alexander which brings Philosophical and Aggessive to the table, while Zulu is quite decent comboed with Aggessive for Ihkandas, and Impis are highly mobile defenders/workersnipers.

If i were to rank them well i'd frankly say something among these line taken solely on Leader/civ combos

Isabella (Exp, Spi) of Native America
Suleiman (Phi, Imp) of Celtia
Alexander (Phi, Agg) of Zulu
Churchill (Cha, Pro) of Carthage
Stalin (Agg, Ind) of Arabia

with the lower three being rather closely packed, with a small leap to Suleiman and a large leap to Isabella

Start ...

Very tempted to settle on the Plain hill stones ... but i'd have to send my warrior NE to check if i'm not going to drop food by doing so, probably would also demand a letting the Settler go a detour via the plain 'phants to see if there is enough food in the ocean to accept abandoning the pigs

taking suggestions as of what my theme should be.

given settling on PH stone, then i'm considering if not the best start build would be Worker into Stonehenge

Went and moved as i mentioned.

No new food in sight, so i'm planing on settleing on the Stone as mentioned ... Warrior likely moves towards the small peninsula to see if i have a reasonable second city there or a so-so, backfill for that matter.

Looks somewhat similar to Mardocs start in 42

The deities of Dicerolls were friendly to us this day.

Pig and Wheat, while HAK is still wandering around and only Khan settled t0 ... given the wandering around people do, i'm getting a feeling that this is a better than average start.

Looks like i'm at the far western end of a peninsula, with what might be islands just to the north

Starting with a Worker, followed by probably Stonehenge

my tech path is Argiculture first ... and then i have to pull out my napkin to math if it would make sense to grab hunting before Animal Husbandry, or if i should go AH->Mining and first then go Hunting.

Decided that my Theme is D&D, base classes to be exact. Starting with the 11 standard, and from there probably forking out into different classes in Pathfinder System (the one that fondly was called 3.75 when it started)

Other than the distinct lack of food anywhere, (not found anything but the Wheat and Pig within reach of the city), and that HAK might well be on the longest Settler-walk in a PBEM on RB. Theres really not much happening.

with the lack of food, i'm leaning towards my pick actually being better than Brick, and about even with Commodore, with HAK's maybe even diving towards the buttom, although given the ammount of hills around that might be helpful for any intends he might have of doublemoving anyone

decided that i should go directly to Animal Husbandry instead of grabbing Hunting on the way, as then i'd be short 2 turns, if i want the pigs online asap ...

No picture as theres absulutely nothing to show other than a set of whales to the north
