[SPOILERS] Donovan Zoi and AdrienIer: Slümhund Millionaires!

Sorry I have been out of touch. Have literally only had enough time to play the turn before having to head out again. I'll give a good update tonight.

Ok. I'm mostly interested in whether we have really lost the HG and what you think of Commodtay's 172 point advance on Gavagai and 194 on us.

Gavagai built the HG, that is why we were able to get a Market in SF so quickly. We got 72g in runner up gold from the build too.

Commodtay is just something we'll have to deal with later. There is not much we can do to directly affect them.

Incidentally, we have sight on retep's landbridge city now. Undefended. This may be the case with most of his cities and why he is using the Chariot sentries. I think we can really make a dent here if we go full push into his lands. Perhaps take 3 key cities and declare peace but possibly push on.

I can boat an Archer there in two turns if we wait to play last. Then even if he whips there next turn, we still get the city.

I'll be playing the turn tonight in about 7 hours, or after retep plays.

Ok. I think our best chance at getting back around Commodtay's level is by getting more cities than him. So taking some from Retep and conquering Elkad (or parts of Elkad's land) should be a good start.

Hey Adrien, sorry I have been so busy lately. frown Here's a quick update:

-We get Construction next turn. I think I would like to go with IW next to get Swordsmen and the 50% city attack bonus. With a CR1 promo, you are looking at 6*1.70 = 10.2, which is just short of a walled Axe with a Combat 1 promo (5*2.10 = 10.5). Elkads's power has flatlined for the last few turns, meaning he thinks the walls in Rotterdam is enough to go back to domestic production. And one of his whips in Rotterdam was a Courthouse. Of course, we are taking a risk that Iron will not be available, but with the size of our land and our FW network, I think it is worth it. This is because the tech comes sooner and the unit is cheaper than the WE. We could then follow up with HBR and have HAs catch up to the frontlines. The big question would be whether we want to cease fire after getting both western cities or stay at war so Elkad doesn't have 10 turns to build up.

-Oh yeah, why back to Elkad? Well, retep has a strong presence in one island city (4 units in The Bishop), while the landbridge city (One more Day) has moderate protection now. He also settled just north of the Wines west of Niagara Falls for a city with no food. That being said, I think we need to move retep back down to enemy #2 and get some gains from Elkad in the next few turns. Then I think we may be able to orchestrate a quick 3-city conquest against retep (landbridge, raze Wine city with Settler ready, and city W of Savannah), possibly while still against Elkad so retep hopefully keeps his guard down.

- The wild card? Gavagai's power is still spiking, so I am sure he would use this opportunity against us if we take too much too fast. Sainte-Foy already has Walls and I am planning to send some Axes, Cats and Spears (and soon WEs) to the region in the likely event that Gavagai has Swords or Numids now. And then there's always Joey as well.

All of the above could put a big target on our back and may also spread us too thin. So let me know what you think. I'll try to post a better report with pics as soon as I can.

The problem is that we need something to defend against axes attacking OUT of the city. Just in case he put 3 axes and a spear inside Rotterdam you know. I know his military is small but I think he'll try to counter attack and 5 axes could tear through our guys easily if we don't have HAs or WEs in there.

Did you try offering a map trade to Gavagai ?

We have our own Axes to do that, and if we send 2-3 of them the odds are just about even depending on promos. Besides, I really woulnt want to use our more expensive mounted units as frontline collateral if possible. If we go with a large enough stack, Elkad would realize that the more he attacks is, the less he has left to defend.

Totally spaced on the Gavagai trade, so if you want to log in to offer it before he plays that would be fine. Otherwise I'll do so when I play in about 6 hours.

Done. Started IW at 0%, and Chesapeake on a lighthouse (no idea what you intended there). The rest of the turn is yours.

Ok I confess, I built the fishing nets east of Chesapeake too. The fish was so lonely without its nets...

Awesome, thanks! I'll have to see about Chesapeake, but it sounds like the way to go.
