I think Q had planned to solve it by just naming all future versions of the mod "Erebus in the Balance" with maybe just the readme telling you which version it is. Apparently that's what Sareln(?) did when first doing the mod.

That doesn't work well because it screws over existing pbems. Having a version number avoids that.

This is the intent. Once this is done, downloading the play for ordinary games will work fine. We'll still need to rename for pbems, but we'll always do that - and I'm much less concerned about people playing pbems, who are posting on the board for us to work through these issues, as opposed to people on Moddb, CFC, or SPers here, who aren't willing to engage on the forums. So this makes a workable situation for everyone and prevents overloading people.

Your primary players are those on this board. You should cater to this niche and not force anyone to rename PMs. That is a bad practice that continually gets us into trouble.
