OK, all games except for PB22 are up on their usual ports. I'll PM the players for each game the temporary server address. Post in the tech thread of your game if you have a problem connecting.

As for PB22, I have no idea what is different about that game than all the others at this point...I'll keep trying but my son is probably waking up from his nap soon so that may be all for troubleshooting. I'm not sure about setting up Civstats for all these games. Please just post in your tech threads who needs to play, how much time is remaining, etc.

I got Civstats up for PB23, PB25, and PB26. So feel free to not communicate with your fellow players in those games now. :P

Edit: Not so fast...I've taken Civstats down for these games. I've had two incidents of games crashing when the Civstats client crashes...so please communicate in the tech thread for your game.

Not sure what game is on :2060, but it isn't CFC2014

Edit: appears to be a test game of some sort. no passwords on any of the civs, and they have the default names.

I stepped away for a bit and came back to this:




Three of the four games (PB23, 25, and 26) have crashed. PB18 is apparently still up but...yeah.

We may want to just wait for Caledorn's server to be repaired. He said it should only be a few days. Sorry, Civ free weekend guys.

For whatever games/turns have been played I can sync the latest saves back to Caledorn's server when it's back online.

Just as an FYI. The main server will return within a few days. Since we're dealing with enterprise hardware failure on rack servers, spare parts under warranty are generally sent out by courier as soon as business hours are open. Of course the hardware failure occured just before the end of business hours on friday, so there was no time.

I cannot promise anything, but if the hardware supplier does their job, I assume my host will receive his spare parts by courier on Monday before 12 pm. It'll take him a few hours to restore everything from backups etc - but if everything goes well the main server should be back up and running within Monday evening/Tuesday morning.

However, I am going to put in a disclaimer here and mention that it could take a few more days depending on the hardware supplier. Note though that the server we're running our Game VM on is also a server that is used for several other company VMs for webpages, mail handling, (including my own company - so I am using a temporary backup mailserver at the moment just so I receive emails in case anything critical comes along) etc - so this server is important for my host to get back up ASAP. Our game server is the least important part of it - but a backup restore restores everything, including our server.

So I've been at work all day. What's the low down? I have a PM from earlier in the day saying there's an IP address to connect to, but it sounds like the current truth is that the games are just down until further notice? Just having a little trouble keeping track here.
