Yeah, good idea, but now we might want to consider hooking up copper and getting an axe or two. With Impi's confirmed on the field, we wouldn't want to get caught by surprise.

But yeah, with Impis and vultures on one end, and Dog Soldiers on the other, we'll need Axes and Chariots (AH research completes in 2t)

Uneventful turn. Buddhism was founded last turn.
We completed AH eot:
Horses in the NW is a bit out of reach until we plant X. Horses on the right is smack where we planned to plant a city...
There's also this horse in between Alhazard and Khan:
We also got demos on Alhazard:
I think we can still safely leave Horses till city #5 since power demographics don't yet indicate much build up, we're not in close geographical yet with any opponent, and everyone is likely to be doing the farmer's gambit.

Also, what should we research next? The main plan was writing, but we won't get any immediate benefit from Writing (too early a library will cramp growth curve, no trade routes to anyone yet); Sailing will be good for an eventual lighthouse at Guangzhou and we can also consider whipping a galley from Shanghai and settle what looks like a 1 tile island down there for ICTRs.

I approve of Sailing if you think you can queue in a galley shortly after completion. There's also a one-tile crab/fish island to the west that we could potentially grab if Khan is too slow.
Re: Horses, I don't think there's any problem with settling on top of horses if it's the best place for a city. The only shame here, I guess, is the horses are on a river so we'd get a bonus commerce from the pasture.
One argument in favor of Writing is that it leads to Maths and better chops, but it is probably better saved for a little later when getting a library would be more useful.
For Alhazard, let's just keep an eye on them. We seem to be pretty even at the moment. Hopefully we can get back to #1 in food, too.

T49:
Khan founded a city which rules out the Western Island:
The WB confirmed that the Eastern island is an island:
Writing is indicated since the next Settler is going to found on the plains horse. I also realised the horse will give a 2h city center so it's even better than I thought.
We also found DTG's territory (borders are 3N of the scout)

Clearly we will have to burn down Khan's city. >:D I'm a little busy right now but I'll try to comment more later.

OK, so it sounds like the next city is going on the Horse? Good to connect that resource, main bad point about that city is it has to steal corn from capital to feed itself. What's the happy cap in the capital looking like? Any whip unhappy? What's your plan for Horse city? Taking a look at it myself, I think it should start working cottages that overlap with the capital's BFC. Looks like it could do 2 grassland, 1 plains.
Or was the sheep city next? Probably a better move with its own food and access to silver. Sorry, lost track of the plan.
Does Shanghai have a monument in it yet? Hopefully we reveal some food to the south of that 1-tile island, otherwise it will have to share food with another city.
What are costs looking like? I see we're not making a ton of money at 100% gold, so we may only be able to get down 2-3 more cities before we have to pause on expansion.

Happy cap of the capital is currently 6 and will be 7 when silver is hooked. I just whipped it last turn and will let it grow uninterrupted until size 6, at which point it can have an output of 20 hpt = 3t worker or 3 1/3 t settler.

Oh, as I said earlier I'll be without access to Civ from a week this month, from 8 Jun to 13 Jun. Would you be able to take over?
I'll translate my micro to word form for 6-7 turns. Also, I should be able to log into the RB forums and post in case anything unexpected happens, but I'm afraid it's not guaranteed.
