lol its on iOS now? That might be worth having on my phone.

It's out for android as well, but it seems like it's for tablets only - no phone version available.

Been playing lots of Witcher 3. Amazing game, pretty much more of the same if you liked Witcher 2, except with a much larger world. Only real complaints so far are that the Igni and Aard signs both got nerfed again (poor Aard into near-uselessness) and the plot hasn't quite grabbed me yet the way Witcher 2's den of politics, racial tension and intrigue did.

I've played upto doing 1-2 sidequests in the 2nd region. If you don't want to see spoilers then look away from my post!

I'm disappointed that the combat hasn't improved from the Witcher 2 and its mostly about swinging your sword over and over and rolling away when enemies threaten to overwhelm you. Its definitely good that Quen isn't as ridiculous as it was in TW2 since it encourages you to experiment with the other signs (I still find Yrden, the trap sign a waste of time though). The addition of the crossbow feels a bit clunky and if you're going underwater you have to rely on it if fighting is unavoidable. I do like that enemies health bars are coloured to reflect which sword you should be using, I know I frequently used my silver sword on wolves before I realised what the silver health bars were all about.

The quests seem pretty interesting so far, I liked the one involving the dead women haunting the well and giving the player a level recommendation in the quest log generally stops you from dying pointlessly over and over. Having some high level quests open in early parts of the game gives you a good feel for how much your character will progress over the game and I like to have a good reason to revisit old areas. The main quest line hasn't gone too far yet so I can't judge it really but its surprising to search for Yennefer unsuccessfully in previous games then have her just turn up out of nowhere. I felt sure you'd be encountering her in a dungeon or fishing her body out of a river or something so it felt a bit anticlimactic.

As for the rest...

Gwent seemed awfully easy in the starting area but then it ramped up somewhat when you get to Vizima and the Nilfgaard guy has multiple hero cards that can match 3 of your basic cards (pay2win confirmed). I'll have to get a lot better cards before having a chance against this guy.
I can't speak about the games graphics but then why would I need to since you can check out youtube videos and stuff if you want to see it, personally its nothing special to me since I have to play on low settings since my PC can't really handle more than that.
I dislike that the game uses durability on your weapons and armour and forces you to go back to town fairly often to fix your stuff (damn repairing is expensive!).
Crafting is a bit unhelpful especially when looking at an armour diagram since it doesn't tell you if the armour is light, medium or heavy, but perhaps I'm missing something.
There needs to be a quicksell for junk items.

Lastly I'll note that the text in books and in your bestiary etc etc is written excellently and is worth checking out every time you find a new monster or a new book.

Gwent's great, although I probably crippled my non-Temeria decks by losing or avoiding most of the challenges in the first area. Guess I'll eventually have to go back and collect whatever cards I missed.

Some players are simply way too strong to beat until you get a much better deck, which can be frustrating since there often isn't way of knowing when someone is packing three heroes until you lose to them enough times to get the picture. The Vikingish lady at Crow's Perch is more-or-less unbeatable until you have a means of shutting down her entire melee at once, at least twice over. It's also kind of odd that low-strength cards (and to a lesser extent very high-strength spies) have absolutely zero utility; you'd expect there to be some way of swapping your terrible cards with an opponent, or something.

But it's still really fun regardless, especially since the game never holds your hand and allow you to come up with combos on your own. There's a series of ah-ha moments to be had as you realize some of the stuff you can pull off. Also as far as I can tell there's never really downside to losing save a single gold. It's a shame real life doesn't follow Witcher Gwent logic, where random assistant managers will duel you for a buck and then hand over a suit of armor when you win.

Sometimes quite funny to check the Steam "currently played" statistics:

Did you know that currently more people are playing "Clicker Heroes" (a F2P game that will cause you to break your mouse and very likely cause carpal tunnel syndrome wink ) than "The Witcher 3" ?

True, but I think this is a significant part of that:

Clicker Heroes Wrote:Free to Play

The Witcher 3 Wrote:$59.99

Plus Witcher 3 is an MA rated game that actually earns its classification and won't grab thousands of middle schoolers.

I know, I know, but did you actually try playing "Clicker Heroes"? crazyeye

All you do is click in the same spot over and over again as fast as you can. Why would anyone in the world play such a game longer than 10 minutes? shakehead
