PB22 - Substitute for Gawdzak

OK, enough, this game really needs to finish one way or another. I'll play the turns for Gawdzak so you guys can finish the game. I'm not promising to spend the time it takes to win from his position whatever that is. I'm going to play the turn, end turn, and then log out. Not spending time planning or making an effort to win. I don't really want to play civ turns but I'll give ten minutes a night to it.

I would highly advise not declaring war on me or doing anything that will make the turns take longer for me, as there really shouldn't be any reason to since I'm not going to try to beat you guys to space, or whatever Gawdzak was doing before. I'm just keeping the turns moving. If you guys are OK with that then I can play the turn this afternoon in a few hours, if I can find Gawdzak's password. As for spoilers, I read commodore's thread while he was playing and may have read some of the lurker thread, I don't remember now. Anyway, that's the plan. Is this an acceptable level of engagement? I don't really see how this is better than turning over to AI, but OK, I'll try to help.

The game really needs someone who cares enough to make an attempt to win. If the current frontrunners are not competing, the nature of the game will radically change.

It is maginally better as you are more predictable (you won't declare wars) but in general I'm with Plako here. It is just another way to turn the game into a farce.

I'm willing to sub in I suppose, PB18 has gotten less time-consuming recently. However, I'm still too-spoiled per Gavagai's criteria. I'd understand if he doesn't want to relax those. Alternatively I could help with all the space race micro for another sub though I imagine the hard part is convincing someone to do the military stuff if war breaks out.

I'm also with plako and Gav here; I'd rather the game be called then turn Gawdzak over to the AI or let someone just press end turn for him. That said, I appreciate the offer, Xenu.

I had also been thinking that Gawdzak had the highest chances left to win, but just by a hair and I had I just recently (recently? lol) underestimated Gav so who knows what my opinion is actually worth. It seems fairer to declare the game a draw but that's also a bitter pill to swallow for everyone involved... we were so damn close to the end...

edit: if TBS wants to play, that's fine with me!

Wow. Let me really think about it. I will decide in a few hours if I want to agree. May be will even need to log into the game after so long while eek

OK, screw it. Let's try with TBS playing. I could suggest that I'm allowed to read Gawdzak's thread smile but this idea is just too stupid. So, I guess, I will accept some handicap.

Cool, I did log in last night, but obviously this first turn will take a bit longer than usual.

Yeah, don't worry, it's gonna take us all a little while to remember what the hell was going on. lol

Thanks TBS!
