Well, I could be the monkey making the moves with you the organ grinder telling me what to do, but I expect he'd rather take the delay than risk any spillover.

This war really changes things, slavery is really necessary now.
Longbows on hills mean he can't pass. Longbows in a city mean he can't take it.
Yeah, it just sucks to be unable to use the city tiles. Well I guess working some Fincoast ain't too bad either
Quote:Thanks ! TBH we should be proud but having Grimace in full revenge mode to our west makes it harder to relax and enjoy. Also there are 9 techs we really want ASAP (archery masonry sailing MC IW CoL construction currency calendar) and that's before we start thinking about the aesthetics line or beelining guilds.
I'm honestly considering going archery sailing construction and stomping Grimace with a stack of lb phalanxe and cats.
I feel we're getting to a point where currency is somewhat needed
Quote:This is the most depressing thread I've ever seen for players who just managed to Oracle Feudalism. Nicely done there guys.
Archery next turn, then we can save gold for a while (Currency is 6t of current 100% for instance), though I'll need to know where to put the overflow to. Sailing maybe? It's cheap and an island city could help the econ. After sailing even Alphabet could be as nice as Currency, if we get OB from Sian. but that's a gamble of course.
But first of all I need some orders reg immediate steps. One of the options of a) to c) from my last report ( b) would be unwise, as in case his second vulture wins we could not counterattack, so I say either a) (slight risk) or c).
Also revolt this turn or build more unpromoted units first? If we revolt now, by the time he gets his 5 vultures in range of the city we can have 4 Phalanxes there (3 if we don't whip one out and instead build a workboat, I think that should be ok with the hill and 20% cultural defenses.
If we wait for the revolt... we can have the workboat and a whipped Phalanx, or start getting a longbow.
Also scratch chariots, Grimace's new addition to his army is a spear. Oh well.
This I diod not have to ask about :
looks like Sian has a settling party on its way, I hope we stay peaceful (rihgt now I'm wondering if changing the dot to 1N would have been smarter). I'll pull the warrior towards the city, as a meatshield and ideally later garrsion for Archimedes.
Also: breakeven still at 50% after settling. I thought it was worse.
Mechanics?: If I had my units in that same position at end of last turn (and previously I had sight on those tiles), I can be 100% sure there is no barb on any of the fogged tiles. Right?
######################Breaking news:
HR AND Vassalage AND Serfdom is just 1 turn of Anarchy!!! we do it? we do it? (I don't know what it will be like after founding the next city)
My proposal: I set up all cities to be whipped next turn, to fill up the unhappiness pools. After whipping next turn, I start the revolt. We can even delay this one turn further. Of course with the Grimace war we could come to a point where we really regret not having a whip in our hands (well, you could come there. I won't be playing the turns anymore by that time, thanksfully :P )
Take all the time you need, still going to be up for a good while longer (and also I don't mind leaving the turn for tomorrow), but some answers woul be nice. After all, you'll have to deal with the consequences
Sure you don't want Sailing before Currency? Will not be relevant before next turn anyways (past next with the revolt, and that's the turn you should already be able to play)
Sad not to see the serfdom worker bonus at a time where it actually matters a lot. I've come to think of it / talk myself into it as a means of saving hammers without happy penalty. But probably you're right.
ok, so let's look a little on immediate planning: With HR, we have some growth potential. But we can also still sustain at least two more cities to the NE I think. Have to think about south of Arch as well (have you seen that barb city on one of the shots? It's in a nice position.
Then, having just one Cre library as yet is quite bad. Arch at least should get one soon, but the poor city has not even finished the granary as yet (and no garrison). Been doing a great job working FP cottages and the gold though, almost reaching Pyth's beaker output. More reason for a library of course. But I feel bad whipping away FP cottages being worked, or the gold mine. Next turn could allow for a tile swap to enable a whip however (it's got to do with Thy losing the pigs). So that would be granary->library and get an archer from somewhere or the warrior that was scouting Sian.
So why not serfdom ? It gives us 1h on mills (useless) and +75% worker improvement speed. That means 1 turn off 3 and 4t improvements and 2t off 5 and 6t improvements. But in many cases you have to add a turn moving to the tile and 2t roading. Compared to that we have the possibility of whipping an additional pair of workers to compensate, and even more importantly the possibility of whipping units. We are now bordering two aggressive neighbors (one literally, the other figuratively) and I want the possibility of whipping setters workers phalanxes longbows and a galley later on for expansion defense and exploration.
How about starting a longbow after whipping the phalanxe ?
What's the situation with the setter for the setter for the "last" city ?
