Could you post demographics?
Erebus in the Balance - a FFH Modmod based around balancing and polishing FFH for streamlined competitive play.
Certainly. Once Old Lion wakes up and gives me the save, I'll see about posting the latest demographics

Current Map (I'll add a few more details in a handful of turns, I should think)
And here is my current pride and joy, the food graph :3 Now, the primary downside here, is that I still haven't revolted into Aristocracy/Apprenticeship. I rly rly wish there was a way to just wait till a golden age to switch out, but that does not seem feasible. Therefore, as much loath as I am to admit it, I must, at some point, eat a turn of anarchy in order to get the sweet sweet Economy/Military benefits. This turn, I actually *do* finally have a rather significant lead in land area, however ... Ellimist also has 5 cities. (OldLion has 4 cities, and the Blood Brothers have 3 cities each.) Ellimist is also 2nd in food production, and has been running a respectable MFG game throughout the course of it. Unfortunately, with trying to catch up/ invoke mastery through a Food/Production combo ... my GNP has proportionally fallen. However luckily it seems that only Oldlion is acting as a serious GNP contender for now ... which makes sense, kinda. I mean it is unlikely the Blood Brothers would be high in GNP for the moment ... and yet, I might have expected their cores to give off a bit more GNP than that. However ... with their switch to production for the war effort it can't be all that surprising. Now Ellimist is a bit more shocking. I didn't expect his GNP to be 'quite' that low, even though the stat *does* count expansion maintenance against the national product (I think). And finally we have power The blood brothers are really at it ... and I'm not rly surprised by Kragroth's power jump because in the best/worst case scenario, he gets an extra 4 warriors per turn. And they are probably going to be 4 str too ... This turn I have popped 2 Lizards from a lair (and had to kill the resulting 3 dwarven axemen). I know some of you might prefer the dwarves b/c of their bronze ... but either way its get 2 units, have to deal with 3 units ... and NO WAY am I going to try and deal with MORE barbarian lizardmen, especially after having gone to such great lengths to destroy their Lairs. The lizard mobility in my hands is only a bonus ... its the mobility in barbarian hands that is truly frightening. But still, I found a way to get 2 extra units and I took it. And, since I now have animal husbandry ... I'd like to give a whirl at capturing some Aminals ![]()
Yes .... Yes it is!
![]() (its just a bit south of Epsilon) --> I'd like to run a sim to see what odds a C1 + Animal Subdue hunter has vs. a C5 lion ![]()
Ladies and gentlemen ... we have liftoff. Such is the might of building 3-4 warriors per turn. (and from just 2 cities!!)
It looks as though no further fighting has occured between Sheaim and Kragroth. I cannot see how the Sheaim can expect to 'outproduce' the Orcs ... although, in another sense, I have every faith in Saruman's capability of winning this engagement. The fact that he has been 'keeping up' with Kragroth's power score, AND has simultaneously begun to outstrip him economically (30% more GNP, equal Crop Yield) ... even at only 10% more MFG ... is nothing short of a miracle imho. And, if it does perhaps have something to do with Pyre Zombies, I do not doubt it in the slightest. I myself had told Saruman that if he attacked Kragroth's #2 city with 3 Pyre Zombies, he would most likely win. (that is, 1 high lvl PZ, + 2 cat PZs, + an assortment of warrior retinue) --> And I think that prediction is still, to an extent, correct. However, that was assuming 3 PZs + 3-4 warriors vs. .... maybe, 7 warriors? (on the offense). But even vs. 8+ warriors, even 2 PZs should be sufficient on the defense, to not allow much gains .... and he could, perhaps, do some pillaging. [spoilerKragroth did found a 3rd city, along the borders between me and his capital, which was smart. Albeit inefficient. If he builds a road to me, I will more than likely offer open borders (assuming I have also built a road to him), but I cannot forsee that in the immediate future ... but perhaps in the mid-term future. I suppose the real question is how the Calabim should approach approach the Kragroth/Sheaim situation. I could definitely push the war either way (imho) ... and if Kragroth dealt favorably towards the Calabim we would be willing in going vs the Sheaim ... and he did give me screenshots when I requested it .... I suppose the real issue is what sort of city he would be willing to gift me (via his settler founding something) and how soon. And any potential peace pledges that may or may not be included in such an offer .... I'm sure he has thought of such deals in the past, and that it was only a lack of immediate cooperation from me that is preventing him trusting me. Certainly, regardless of who I choose to support, Kragroth certainly stands to gain much more considerably. If I acted against Kragroth I would be opening up a second front on his opposite border. Whereas a peace arrangement with me would allow him to solidify his position (if successful in the war) and expand to the west with almost 0 risk. I would not be at all surprised to see a message from Kragroth sometime in the near future, of some sort of offer, even if it was only a reiteration of his previous offer, perhaps with some added details, etc. Probably the best way I would have of signalling my acceptance of the offer would be to send Kragroth an Open Borders request ... Of course, this is assuming that I am willing to trust Kragroth, and to work together with him. Certainly a possibility ... but if he builds a 'real' city along my borders (the northern one doesn't really count), then I would have more incentive to directly support the Sheaim.[/spoiler]
Last turn (turn 70) ended with Ellimist and Old Lion at around 394 score. And I had 494 score.
Kragroth, surprisingly, wasn't very far behind Ellimist and Old Lion even with only 2 cores and 1 expansion city. This leads me to believe that, if he had kept his plant near Saruman, he would currently be #2 in score (and possibly #1 in score, not counting my 2 'free' techs) I'd like to get a Market started (if possible) in one of my core cities, with the hopes of running a Specialist until I get a GM motors. The plan would be to pop Currency. However ... if I went Carnival + Market, I could see myself running both an Artist and a Merchant and just seeing what pops up. I'd rly *LIKE* to have the time to build a Training Yard. So maybe the best strat is to go Training Yard/ Soldiers in one city, and Market/Carnival in another city. If only the Heroic Epic and National Epic were already built .... ![]() I'm currently 3rd in GNP, not too surprising, but I expect to go back to #1 when I switch back into Aristocracy (the issue is when ...), and I *think* I'll still have a beaker lead for a handful of turns regardless (maybe like 10 turns worth, at this stage in the game). I'm at a fairly massive food lead, and a less significant population lead, but I'm not sure if Ellimist or Old Lion has the higher population (Since Ellimist has more cities, I *would* think him ... but Balseraph has a 9 pop capital, so maybe he just has larger cities overall) Also in the top 5 cities, Saruman's city is no longer in the top 5, but on the other hand my #2 city has joined the list ... so that is interesting. Not surprising since I spent one turn on culture spending though (to pop 3 cities' borders)
Hey guys, should we just put this game on hold until interest re-sparks? As it is, it seems like we are in some sort of Elliptical turn-purgatory.
Also, didn't Old Lion say that he would be pretty busy in August? I vote that we put the game on pause and restart it (same turn) on September 3rd. |
