Adrien! No interest in a Brick vote before you go? You think Marcus is better?

How do you come to that conclusion?

4 votes are on MA 3 on no tort and matt and Gazglum is on Brick

Oh actually MA is in the lead. Well I hope nothing horrifying happens (well more horrifying than torturing an innocent)

Nope

I meant nope to the first question. No opinion on Brick right now

Gazglum, you are putting motivations in my mouth and I don't like how they taste.

My position has been consistent this entire time: that torturing is something that is likely to be powerful, and helpful, if used well; but is also something that we should not jump carelessly into using, because it can also hurt us, like some sort of blade that could hurt people on either end. crazyeye I don't want to torture just anyone today, because honestly i feel uneasy about the possible side effects that we have no idea about. I feel okay using it on Marcus, simply because with the current flow of events, it would give us more information without the side effect of possibly hurting a play who will remain in the game. I would hesitate to use it on anyone else until we have a reason to that is based on the results of someone dying, which is more concrete, which is why I said I would otherwise prefer a no vote for today.

I did slightly shift my viewpoint on going from torturing someone we can trust, to torturing Marcus, but that was after ~15 hours had passed with no response from him, which makes the circumstances obviously different.

P.S. double edged sword double edged sword double edged sword neenerneener

To get results the torturer has to step forward and announce the result. So we expose our day-scanner to get info about someone who is likely to get lynched/modkilled anyway.
If it is like (IIRC Gazglum) suspected that the consequences get more severe the more we torture we lose a cheap torure-chance for no gain.
Not to mention all the possible sideeffects.

I certainly was not advocating that the torturer would immediately share their information, but they would have slightly more info, and every bit could be helpful.

I had not considered the chance of increasingly bad side effects as we used the ability, is there any clue in serdoa's initial post to indicate that?

If the torturing has random side effects on other players not involved in the process I would say hang the whole operation and let's just win this on pure scumhunting. Don't think we can declare it to be that or not with the info we have right now though.

Serdoa I am guessing based on game start, that deadline for torturing is 1 hour 5 minutes from the timestamp of this post, is that correct?

Brick is a fine torture target.
I have to run.
