Oh, and if BRick really was a vanilla villager, which seems like a fishy claim in retrospect, the only possible reactions to torture mentioned by Serdoa are gaining a new win condition and changing alignment. So he's a good lynch either way, ironically.*
*At least the Alanis Morrissette kind of ironic.
I have to run.

Ummmm, I am SO sorry.
Last night I watched the first episode of House of Cards before bed. I just finished the first season now. I literally completely forgot about this game... I've put it aside for the moment and will endeavor to be more moderate in my intake as I watch season two. Also, my wife is flying in tomorrow at 2 so I will not be online during the lynch deadline tomorrow. Bad timing.
BUT! onto the hunt for today. Brick got tortured, but we don't know anything, which is kind of a let down. Novice elaborate on what specifically about Brick's reaction was strange? Do you mean the picture or his changing his vote to Gazglum?
I actually think the most pressing question I have is, why did Mattimeo volunteer to be tortured?

Novice you're being mean to Brick. First we torture him then, without evidence that he's guilty, you want him lynched anyway. In the end we won't have learned much about anyone surviving the day. I put Brick down as probably town.
The one thing I can think of to help us be sure would be to check if Brick's hero namesake has a tendency to seek revenge. It's a bit far fetched though.

My problem with you reaction is that you are trying to out a very valuable resource, to confirm a sense you already have of someone. Lynching Brick might make some sense, I'm not sure on that. Calling for the outing of our torturer, not so much. To me, that makes zero sense from a town perspective. I would never ask a cop to out himself, I'd ask for breadcrumbs, which is what we should do here as well. Your behavior here is very scumlike IMO.

Yes I did get info, I was told that the pain and agony put me into a prophesying trance, and it was revealed to me that novice is one of those who aim to hurt us. That's not the wording but I'm stopped from driving right now, I'll post more when I get home

Serdoa's writings are just for flavor like that other game he GMed in and I got lynched day 1. There's no way that Serdoa would point to Brick being a tanner so heavily in that last sentence. I think Brick realized he was very scummy after claiming vanilla but the hero PM has a spot for "power". This happened before he got tortured. I think he read Serdoa's writing and used Mattimeo's logic to act like a tanner but he's just scum still hoping for the easy day-one mislynch.

So an easy lynch one then the other. The question being whom do we go after first. I'm already good for a novice vote, so this doesn't come hard to me, and if by chance Novice isn't scum, we lynch Brick the next day and get a day 2 scum. There is of course the possibility of an alignment/victory condition change as a result of the torturing, but I guess we will just have to see how that pans out?

Yeah but... seems to me this is either a scum ploy "reverse psychology" or you are "vanilla" and want to change your alignment?

Is he trying to set up a 1 v 1? Or is that what you're doing?

Ok so, I am the hero Kassandra. I was given no powers, it literally says Power: You have no powers. When I was tortured, I was told that I know pain and scorn, I have suffered that before. Because I endured that, instead of being blinded by the pain I can now truly see, so I have had another vision to prophesy about, that one of the ones who wants to hurt us all is novice. I assume this fits in as some latent power that I just didn't get to know about pre-game?
Anyways, now because of that I know that novice is the way to go. So I guess thank you guys for torturing me?
