How does the youtube embed tag work on this site?

You don't have to use [embed], that's a holdover from our old forum, I just reimplemented it in MyBB for backwards compatibility. MyBB has a [video] tag built in that handles Youtube automatically. Go to the advanced post editor and there's a button for it, the rightmost one with the little dropdown.

We probably should remove that button for [embed] I guess

I think the button is tied to the mycode being present (which is why a broken image button for the [ vote ] tag appeared when I put that in), so I'm not sure if that's easy to do. Or it's probably easy and I just don't know how.

You could change the icon on the embed button, instead of the video-player icon, just make it blank or transparent so nobody will notice or use it.

Didn't even notice it. There's a big button that looks like youtube and that's the one I went for. [/Vote]
