I have a tool that can do that... I'm gonna be making a thread about it in the next day or two, but in the meantime I could just do it for you. Have you made any modifications to the sandbox, or should I just regenerate it?
If you want to do it by hand, you need to increase grid width, grid height, and tiles written in the map info section via notepad, and then copy and paste a bunch of blank ocean tiles with the right coordinates. It wouldn't be too hard if you just wanted a few extra tiles.
yeah I fiddled with doing it in notepad but really didn't want to copy-paste and rewrite the x-y coordinates if there was an easier way.
Attached modified WB file, could you run it through your tool? Assuming it isn't really particularly harder to add any given number, could you add say 40 rows and columns of blank ocean? That should more than suffice (by a lot)... And thanks!
Pics later today, scouted out new 2nd city spot. Def better long term, trying to figure out if the temporary size 2 gems boost is worth the prior one. Also got another 40 gold from hut which is boosting my oracle time. I can now eot38 it with 2 cities, a just-produced settler, and 3 workers (and only 1 warrior, which might be the catch, eot39 if I want 2 warriors and poly instead of med).
I THINK no one else is likely to try to oracle before t40, so I'mleaning towards getting poly over med to open up a play for judaism. But I now don't have to make any decisions for like 10t when my worker completes (and honestly the worker moves are obvious for another 6 turns after that) so can fiddle for a while.
Here's the newly found south stuff, new city site #2 is SW of the wheat.
I managed an eot37 oracle variation with the new city site, fastest thus far. I think I like eot37 or eot39, the latter if I want to chase judaism, the former if not. No judaism for the eot38 makes the turn delay not worth it imo.
The game size is set to huge, right? (please god say that its still set to huge after the reload)
edit: if you were playing with the original version of the sandbox, the world size was probably set to "Standard" because the sandbox mirrors the main save's settings and we forgot to set that until right before the game was launched. so maybe that's what you're seeing?
Yeah, that's for MC. It's riskier, since I can't overflow and 1t the oracle with the eot37 time since I need to do pottery last (which shaves a turn off the tech-time constraint as opposed to priesthood last and overflow).
Can get an eot37 oracle with poly, but it delays the 2nd settler by a turn (have to not revolt to slavery until after oracle). Hmm.
Sub-t50 forge... I don't know. Building granaries first is probably best but haven't devoted a ton of thought to it yet. I certainly COULD have a sub t50 forge. Which if I then ran an engineer would open up some pretty amusingly early wonder-rush opportunities. But this can all be figured out later, right now I'm stopping all planning I think on... t45?, whenever I make settler #3, because I have no earthly idea where it should go yet.
Funny Note - I went to log into this game to get below screenshot and habitually tried to log into the Inca Civ.
Here's a shot of all uncovered land
Second city planned SW of wheat on the desert hill, 3rd city planned SW of gems. 4th city unknown, I suspect in the south by the rice or the sheep are likely, or maybe up NW by the clams.
