[SPOILERS] WARNING: Donovan Zoi's Molotov Cocktail Contains Vodka and Coffee

Wow, so that is a pretty big picture that definitely shows the limitations of Microsoft Paint. Luckily it will be viewed mostly as an avatar. But sadly, Paint usually where I do my best work. So this got me thinking about another time afew years back where I used my "talents" in a music forum game called Guess the Album Cover.

While we are waiting to start the game, let's see if you can name the subjects depicted in my following works of art:

Turn 0 - 4000 BC

This is going to be a long game. I mean, how do you fuck up the first turn? rolleye

Let me tell you. But first a picture is worth 1000 words. Can you guess what idiot Donovan did? There's a nice hint for you right in the screenshot here:

Yeah, I never use Scout automation for the very reason you can surmise from this photo (uh, the hut's THAT way. dumbass) so I really never paid attention to what its icon looked like because I never used the damned thing. But now that I inadvertently have done so by not paying attention to the Scout being queued first, it's shape is quite similar to the Build City icon (except that it's not blue and flashing alright ). So now a hut I should have gotten next turn will have to wait at least 3 turns. banghead

I'm not about to ask that the game be restarted for 23 people due to my stupidity, so I guess I will just be exercising the RB creed of playing through adversity much earlier than I expected. And yes, I did remove automation from the Scout...

I'll be going SE next turn and the likely SE>E the turn after to expose more and double back to get the hut diagonallly. Other than that, I'll just have to hit enter for the next 4 turns. What could possibly go wrong??

Sorry, I have been slow to post in this thread. I have been trying to catch up on my PB25 posting. Drop by and say Hi if you have the time!

Thanks flugauto for the suggestion. smile Luckily the situation appeared to resolve itself, as Elkad needed a small correction. I will try to catch up on reporting here when I get back from a short trip.

With that said, I have requested that a lurker make moves for me for the next turn or two. Here is the following:

Turn 4

Set research to Mining
Move Scout NW > NE to land on Forest 2 tiles N of current location. If you could be so kind, please post a screenie so I can let you know the move for Turn 5 if necessary.

The password is: glasnot. Thanks!

OK I finally have time to catch up on some reporting here.

Turn 1 - 3960 BC

With the opening turn reloaded to accommodate an issue on another player's map, I got a chance to send my Scout in the right direction. I found more growth potential via Fish just out of reach of our capital Nairobi. Must be spawning season but they are just west of the hut.

The villagers were kind enough to give my wanderer a map of regions south of us. A few key spots down there as well, with a hut off in the distance tempting me to visit lands I already know. I won't be taking the bait.

Turn 2 - 3920 BC

When scouting I always try to uncover as much land as possible, and would usually find myself heading 2NE to the forested hill. But this time I wanted to view the full potential of my second Fish city. So I went 1S to the plains tile to uncover Whales before heading NE and setting my eyes upon Pigs and Silver. Great, I already get to decide between a suitable Moai city with Whales and 2 overlap with my capital, or a Fish/Pig growth juggernaut that yields me Silver but overlaps 4 tiles. I will have to see more land to decide.

Turn 5 - 3800 BC

We cast our nets on the capital Fish this turn, so Nairobi can now grow in 5 turns. I could have delayed growth and gone Worker next and gotten it in 9 turns but decided to stay with my original plan of Warrior. The main for reason for this is because I met one of our neighbors today; CheaterHater of the Inca!

The Inca have a 2-move Warrior (Quecha) that is hell on Archers, so I have moved Archery off of my short term wish list. This also locks in my need to research Bronze Working after Mining so that I can hopefully counter with some 2-movers of my own. splat

Inca also have the +1 culture Terrace UU (Granary) but do not get the half-cost benefit for it like we do as AGG for the Ikhanda. So we will not only be competitive culturally but militarily as well.

CH has George Washington [EXP/CHA] for a leader, which will lead to larger well developed cities thanks to the additional +2 in health and happiness, as well as the ability to train Workers and Workboats faster. The host of half price buildings and 20% off XP is no slouch either.

Here's a look at the land I have uncovered so far at the T5 mark. The border pop from my capital have revealed a viable city site to its north as well. But I definitely need to secure that area near the NE bay to grab all of those Silvers and at least 1 Stone. Being IND, the Stone will give me the inside track on the early wonder race while the Silver would allow me to trade for any luxes I don't have. Food appears to be no problem if I can claim the majority of what I see.
