I've played t16, but report might take a little while.
This was the turn we got graphs on Donovan though and looking at those I think I can conclude that his start has been like this:
t0: Settles his capital Nairobi, working a 3f tile (forgot to take gnp graph so don't know what tile). Starts work boat.
t4: Finishes teching fishing.
t6: workboat finished and moves into position. Starts warrior.
t7: Nets his fish. Finishes teching mining. Starts teching Bronze Working.
t10: Grows to size 2.
t11: Finishes a warrior. Starts worker (or an unlikely settler).
t16
The small town of Oravainen isn’t as small as it used to be as new people have had a habit of engaging in frivolous activities such that not only the corn valley, but also the grove frequented by the elephant herds are required to feed the populae.
Such wide claims to the surrounding area don’t go un-noted by the towns elders though.
While earlier there was a call for warriors to defend the city, the elders now has decided that an even more urgent matter is hiring people to prepare the ground and cut lumber for new huts and houses.
All activity in town is suddenly put to a halt when a messenger arrives. Halvdan the half-wit was no more than a young plant, hampered by lack of light, when setting out with the adventurer Fintourist at the dawn of time. Now the long years has earned him enough respect to immediately be granted audience at Mrs Aura and there he recites the message that has been him entrusted:
Dearest wife,
In me travels around the world I have seen many a peculiar thing.
I’ve seen settlements of friendly tribes, showering me in gold.
I’ve seen people like you and me, but with faces dark as if coloured with the ashes of fire.
I’ve seen birds and bees, valleys and peaks and crags, oh how mighty to behold.
Lately I’ve, however, traversed a place drier than any seen before,
and here what luck I so far have had in avoiding peril has finally caught me up and then some more.
Twas only a moment ago, a howling creature, as swift footed as miself, attacked in the night and closed its jaws round me elbow. Barely awake, I was quite befuddled before slashing its throat in defense of mi life. Now, searching for water, I’ve headed further north, but would ye not ken? The beasts' brother has caught me scent and brought a pal of his own.
I’ve set camp for the night here in the woods, but from North by Northwest the roars they are a-mingling and tis might be me last night alive.
Fare well strong woman, and pray ye please, our ancestors that we may meet again.
The lion attacked, but the wolf only closed in. Do you feel like promoting up the guerilla or the woodsman line (possibly more open hill terrain where we're going?) ?
And should we make a stand in this forest and heal up or continue east straight away?
(that water tile you see north of the cows is a lake and not ocean so there should still be some land here...)
All right, I got impatient and thought I'd move Fintourist 2E as the wolf wouldn't be able to follow there. However, as I moved to the cows I spotted a hut. As I don't want to delay popping that (in case there's another civ north who might grab it), I decided to promo-heal a bit and set ourselves up for a possible reward next turn.
GermanJoey, do you think that you could take the (relevant) map from this worldbuilderfile and post it into the one with correct dimensions?
(It's not essential in any way, but it'd be kind if you could make it work).
Uh, what do you want me to do with this? This is a randomly rolled 23 player torusland or something, with all the leaders/civs set? Its dimensions are 100x76, which is extremely close to the actual dimensions of 100x80. I don't think that minor difference will affect your sims. Did you just want me to extend the height by 4 tiles so that it would be exactly the same?

Thanks GJ
Yeah, I don't believe having those 4 extra rows will mean anything in practise, it's merely a way to get peace of mind knowing that I've done all I can to get it near to perfect.

Went in at lunch to make sure we got the hut.
Wolf had attacked, but didn't do any damage (scout's on 89% health and 4/5xp).
Popped the hut and received 28 gold. Kind of a poor result, but who knows, maybe we'll get currency one turn quicker or something...
No pics at the moment, but revealed a bit more land. Really starts to fell like there has to be someone else up here...
World news:
DZ got a techs worth of score increase this turn. Haven't checked if the timing works out according to graphs/demos, but fairly certain he got bronze working and thus impis aren't necessarily that far off (but hopefully they'd concentrated towards his other neighbour if he plans on harassing anyone with them).

I took a closer look at this. How does DZ start on a work boat without fishing?
