Game settings below:

Any interst for a new EitB PBEM? I am looking for players who have high PYFT rate. For the game I was thinking pretty standard settings:

Map: Torusland/Standard/Inland oceans

Mod: EitB v12

Game Speed: Quick.

Map size: Standard, around 200 land tiles per player.

Difficulty: Immortal

Barbarians: Raging Barbs

Orthus/Acheron: Off.

Huts: Off

Lairs: Off

Start Era: Thaw (i.e. the first one)

Wildlands: Off

Living World: On

Diplomacy: AI only.

All Unique Features: Off

Advanced Start- Off.

Vassal States: Off

Tech Trading: Off

Random thoughts to make the game different: Unrestricted leaders, every civ start with a shade or something similar? Not necessary but just things that could spice up the game a bit if we want that.

Players: (max 5, looking for 4-5)
- Aurorarcher, 18:00-21:00, also 9:00-12:00, GMT time
- DaveV, 10:00-12:00, 17:00-18:00, 23:00-2:00, GMT time
- jalepeno, 01:00-05:00 weekdays, 00:00-04:00 weekends, GMT time
- Mardoc, 23:00-04:00, sometimes 12:00-13:30, GMT time
- Molach, 18:00-21:00, GMT time

I'm probably interested. I've always liked the setup of FfH11, where everyone started with an adept. In that game, you could pick three starting spells for the adept; I'd argue that one starting spell would be more interesting. All the suggested settings sound good to me, especially the high turn rate.

Not a sign-up, but I can help with the map, depending on what you're looking for.

Also heartily recommend an X-spells Adept game, that was a fun one.

I've always wanted to try a starting adept game. Count me in

Thanks, Bob. Could you run some decided mapscript and check that none of the starting areas is awfully terrible? And if they're then slightly modifcations would be nice (or just re-gen untill you get one that looks better). But not anything too time consuming, not even close balance would be required but only that none of the starts are truly terrible and by a quick look it seems that one could win from any starting position. Is that too much to ask? Of course if you want to put more time for this, sure go ahead.

If the above is too much for you then you can run Mirrorland map once we get to that.

What would you guys say? Would you rather play on Mirrorland map (perfect balance) or random map that isn't balanced.

EDIT: The adept thing sounds good to me. It could be nice to only have 1 spell of your choice, like Dave pointed out. I checked FFH11 and I noticed 3 spells might be a bit too much as most of the people picked very similar spells (Meta 1 was very popular, same with Death 1).

I don't mind mirrored maps if it comes to that, even though I usually find myself exploring areas I don't need to. Only one spell works for me too - more thought into starting mana.

If my PYFT rating hasn't been too damaged by the pause in the SG, I'll play.

Proposed settings sound good. I want to suggest maybe Normal speed, assuming a successful PYFT-filter.

Sure, that's fine. If you all do go with the Adept game you might want to use the Rainforest script, which is what the original game used. Makes some of the terraforming spells viable. In that situation I'd make sure everyone had reasonably equitable starts and weren't in isolated no-man's lands.
