[Spoilers] Haram hopefully reports

Ok, got my naming theme. It will be cities and geographic regions from The Witcher saga, by one of the most known polish fantasy writers - Andrzej Sapkowski.

What is really funny - AFAIK the saga has not yet been fully translated to english, while it was already translated to 18 other languages crazyeye That is why, I guess, there is a better chance you might know the game, that was made on the basis of the saga. TBH, I have not played the game, but I am a big fan of the books of A. Sapkowski.

Edit: I've noticed that Jowy is using The Witcher theme in PB28, so I guess, I pick something other.

Draft thoughts.

I guess, I feel like playing one of the PRO/AGG traits and some economic trait. I'm thinking of Qin Shi Huang right now, but might as well change, when I see the starting screenshot. It also depends on the pick order and other players' choices. The civ I'm not even trying to consider, until I know what kind of food I have.

Edit: I've heard of a tool, that prevents from misclicking spoiler threads. Where can I find it?

Here is the starting BFC sandbox for you to look at and start planning, if you choose to do so. This accurately represents what the starting BFC will look like when you load into the game.
The file has any strategic resources stripped out (since you would not know those on turn 0). All non-BFC tiles are water, even ones you can see at the start.

Obviously, the leader/civ is randomly assigned wink

I'm planning to do some opponent overview after the draft is completed, but one thing is worth noting from my perspective. TBS, the main favourite, has chosen Bismarck after I picked Qin. I am planning SH, so it definatelly make things more complicated. His ability to prepare/maximize production is really impressive (not only that, of course). Hopefully I have a slight edge thanks to PRO, his EXP in ToW doesn't give anything at the beginning ( I mean - the very very beginnig smile).

My bet is, he chooses Cartagina as a pairing (more for half-price cothons, than for numids). Techs are also ok, if his start is similar to mine.

I was thinking of some opponent analysis, but then I realized there are bunch of players I know completly nothing about. I'm too lazy to dig some info right now, but I'll probably do some research if they come to be my neighbours.

So, with my limited knowledge, I'll just name the contenders in this game as I see it right now (partially by intuition):

1. TBS - I actually looked through some of his threads, cause they are really worth reading and also, his reporting contains just a perfect level of details for me to read. What can I say about him? He's an excellent player in every aspect I see him as a main favourite in this game (thou, I cannot undesrand why he has taken Japan over Cartaghe; neither UB nor UU are appealing; ok - the wheel is more expensive than mining, but it's just 15 beakers, while 40-hammer Cothons could bring billllllllions of coins).

2. wetbandit/Fenn - I've seen, that wetbandit played some good games here on RB (thou, I haven't followed closely). In PB20 he also managed to squeeze out a very impressive economy out of his narrow, sneaky land. I know nothing about Fenn. Right now they ride a great combo, both FIN and PRO are good traits in this version of ToW and 100-hammer building that gives +65% gold is pretty insane. If they reach Reinessance in a good shape, they will be hard to stop.

3. GermanJoey/Brick - Joey, my friend from PB20 wink He's one of the few I know quite a lot. During the first games here on RB he seems to have earned a reputation of a little crazy, emotional guy, but he's smart and he has way more civ experience than me. In PB20 we had a stupid early fight , that ruined a game for both of us. That is why, I think, both of us would think twice before attacking each other again and that could actually make a decent border. I hope, I won't regret these words lol Brick, as a player, I know completly nothing.

Everyone's got the same crop/mfg, so the starts must be fairly identical. I think I go meditation after fishing to take the religion. It delays BW a little bit, but I can live with that. I have 3 good tiles (Ivory is 1/5/1 with Pro), so I'll build first settler and a second worker on this. Only Jowy starts with myst and he doesn't have any tech to improve his food tiles, so it looks pretty ok.

Need to re-evaluate the religion. I was hoping to skip AH for a while, but it looks like it won't be possible. Only animal food around so far. Screen tomorrow.

Worker opening from GJ (?).

That's a screen a promised to post "yesterday". As you can see I finally decided to go for Buddism. The consequence is that my opening will be played in a very natural way. No early whipping, no chopping, no fancy stuff. Just working strong tiles and using PRO bonusses as much as possible. I'm also planning to build a SH, but not The Oracle (unless it stayes open longer and I will be able to get smth really good). Half of my opponents are IMP, so there is no room for any more bonus chasing (in fact I wonder if this is not too much of a sacrifice already). After religion and the SH, I need to concentrate all my resources on expansion.

The demo says that starting locations may be even completly mirrored. I know Krill was using GJ's tool for making the map, so it might be some kind of bananna hell. Just how big the 'bananna' is?
