I have to say, it's really frustrating. Gav really did screw us by logging in that day outside of his normal play schedule when I hadn't finished my turn. Now I can't log in this morning for us to discuss the war tactics, since he won't be logging in until his usual afternoon. Which means I'll likely have to have the game get paused until tomorrow morning so that Mindy & I can discuss whatever Gav does with his military so that we can take this turn. Gah! It's almost like he did it on purpose. He hadn't logged in during that timeslot even once in the past gazillion turns, but he does so on exactly the turn I'm declaring war.

It was somewhat to his advantage (better positioning of his units) to double-move us, but we weren't at war and the onerous is on the attacker to ensure no double-move. So he really didn't do anything wrong (no whipping spree for example) and he probably didn't do it to gain unfair advantage so much as accomodate his weekend schedule. I do think that Gav plays by the rules but also the spirit of the rules.
Yes, it could be a bit awkard for us. It really depends on how flexible MC's timeslots are. After working out this turn, maybe both MC and Gav play in the afternoon and we play in the AM.
It'll take us 3T to get into striking range of Utica by following the hills +1T to strip defenses and then 1T to attack. So Gav will add units during that time.
My back-of-the-envelope suggests that this will be "interesting".
So onwards went the war....
First was the taking of Tacape....which Gavagai had 3-pop spite whipped and left empty, moving the LB over to Thapsus and the Knight into Utica. He also 3-pop whipped Thapsus and 2-pop wipped Hadrumetum.
Gave us a nice set of infrastracture AND a settled great general.
Here's the F1 screen along with one showing how many Rathaus we have built.
I just realized while looking at this that my F1 screen now cuts off the last city which I'm not sure what it is within the screenshot and don't feel like figuring it out right now. But you can see that I now have 31 cities with the capture of Tacape and have built 22 Rathaus with 5 under construction right now.
Here's the Demos and graphs for the turn:
I'll log back in later to grab the screenshots of what things are looking like over on the Commodore front. I just need to get back to work right now. We lucked out that we were both able to be available for chat this afternoon while planning the movements for the turn, but that likely won't happen often.
31 cities -1 recent capture - 24 granaries built -1 granary in production = check for 5 missing granaries next turn.
LongJohnSilver went organized LH first which explains 1 of them. That screen captures "built" or "built and captured"? Burning Spears we didn't build one,... Maybe some of Borsche's cities or Gavagai captures?

Ah yes, that's the city that got pushed off....Sore.
And the time to completion on that one wouldn't even be accurate anyway, since it's waiting for Sistene to finish and then it'll take the production tiles from Stressed to finish it.

The "Statistics" screen only tracks buildings you have constructed. Buildings captured do not count toward this total.
Ok, finally had a chance to log back in to grab the details on the Commodore front. Here is the unit spam locations:
Then this one shows the northern part of Comm's land, where he's taking the stuff from retep. I've gotten visibility on some of the cities. He just took Master of H this turn.
And here is GavLand after I took Tacape and razed Sabratha:
Here is what I can see of some of the various people's troop counts:
This is basically all that Gavagai has left at the moment, except for whatever he has stationed in Kerkouane. I can't see what he has there yet. I might be able to see it next turn. But we'll see. Not sure when the city visbility points kick in for that one.
This is what I can see of Commodore's unit counts, not including whatever ton of stuff he has in retep's lands.
And this is basically all of Ruff's units. He's got a whole bunch of Knights & Muskets now moving NE towards his border with Commodore. And since I see he's rebuilding the Fort Canal through the island (after he had turned those into Mines not too long ago), it's possible he's going to try to mount a Galleon invasion force. I would just LOVE it if he'd do that.
retep surprisingly actually played his turn already. I glanced at the Demos and Power barely changed. Comm's didn't change and lowest rival (retep) went down ever so slightly...which is probably just from his 3 whips.
So Donovan will play in a couple hours likely, so that'll again possibly allow Commodore to play in the morning with Gavagai playing in his afternoon slot. Whether or not we can fit in some strategy discussion in the afternoon for me to play my turn or not remains to be seen. It's possible I may end up needing to wait until Thursday morning to finalize the war turn, depending on what Gavagai does with his SOD. We're currently expecting him to throw it at our stack....for which the outcome is hard to judge.
