At the top level most of the differentiation between players' abilities in both games concerns decision-making rather than mechanics, and the knowledge burden for both games is a large enough barrier to entry for anyone who's already a top player (and hence making a significant salary already) to prompt any switches.

The draw for the WC was the other night:

Group A: CLG, Yoe Flash Wolves, KOO Tigers, paiN
Group B: Fnatic, Invictus, ahq, Cloud 9
Group C: SKT T1, H2K, EDG, Bangkok Titans
Group D: LGD, KT Rolster, TSM, Origen

CLG have a really good chance of making the quarters, Fnatic are almost shoo-ins, and TSM will do well if they don't come bottom of their group. SKT vs EDG is the money draw in Group C, although both are almost certain to make it through the group whoever wins given the lack of competition.

You really think TSM will win a single game? smile

I'm really curious how Fnatic will do. Jatt has just posted an interesting article concerning Group B:

I agree with him that Fnatic played very conservatively in the regular split, I hope and expect they will come out swinging during the WC!

I'd be surprised if TSM doesn't manage to at least take a game off of Origen. I don't think it is impossible for them to take at least a game off LGD/KT Rolster either.

The West is 3-1 so far and NA/EU is 2-0. I am pleased.

Yep, me too.

I think Fnatic are extremely good, and nothing I saw yesterday changed that. They demolished a Chinese team. They might win the tournament.

Yeah, though to be fair I don't think IG is all that good.

That TSM/KT game was sad to watch. TSM had a real chance to win but they shot themselves in the foot so many times.

iG didn't play well, but they've stood and fought toe-to-toe with LGD and EDG all season, who are two of the favourites for the title. It's only one game, but in that one game Fnatic looked every bit as strong as I thought they might so far.

TSM played well, but their known weaknesses came home to roost, and their communication and shotcalling has taken such a nosedive since the Spring. I'm pretty sure it's a coaching issue, and in a meta where teamplay is more important than it's been in a while (if only becuase assassins are so out of vogue) it doesn't bode well for them.

That LGD/Origen game was fucking INSANE, best game of Worlds this year so far, can't believe they pulled it off!

Also, requisite XPEKE!!!!!!

I wonder when teams will stop P/Bing Darius? Hasn't been especially good in any game (the Ssumday performance was really more Ssumday doing good than any special Darius tricks, especially with how Dyrus played).

LGD just looking terrible this Worlds, maybe I was right thinking they were overrated. TBQ is so bad, he can only play Lee Sin (the announcers like to hype up his Rek'sai but his Rek'sai was actually really underwhelming in the LPL).

So will people believe me when I say LGD is overrated now?!
