I don't think I've ever seen a start with a mountain in the fat cross.
(because I don't think it's an RB game without some griping about the map thanks, Brick - it seems like a good start - corn, 2 sheep, fish, with silver for the next city.

Episode 0, The One Where The Capitol Is Founded
We are off!!
So, I moved to the forest hill to the SE and saw nothing to compel me to move off of my 2 hammer SIP, so I Sipped it... I sipped it real good.
Wow - that's a stunningly bad shot. I'll get a better one next turn. Covered up is silver and corn.
I am building a worker. My tech plan is fishing->mining->BW. The forests are a pain in the ass and I'll love to have The Wheel soon, but no... I had to be a smart-ass and pick a fricking hunting civ. I COULD have had france, or ottomans - someone with useful starting techs.
I have till turn 25 before commodore knocks on my door. that should be fine for getting a worker, a WB and a warrior, maybe a 2nd worker - I'll have to see. The forests are a significant pain for movement, awesome for chops. Seems choppnig out a 2nd worker makes sense.
What can we read from the demos? Well, DTG has a 3 food riverside tile!! glad I'm not going for a religion against DTG My guess is that it's rice.
The setup.
I named the cap Roy, forgetting that I was going to name my cities synonyms of place, yak, fur and tender, or perhaps words that began with PYFT. I may change it back to the original theme - who knows?

Hmmm, personally I can only think of Pyfthagn - a declination of the more common Fhtagn - but I'm not too familiar with the language of the Old Ones....

Turn 1, The One Where We Find The End Of The World
My land.
I spent some time complaining in my head about how unfair it is that everyone has a higher GNP than me - they all have oases!!
Then I realized that they are all teching BW. I'm wondering - maybe I should switch to mining->BW and chop out the stupid WB.

Turn 5, The One In Which AT Resumes Reporting
Boring turns are boring - just wander around, making vague plans for where cities are going to be, maybe.
Gotta say, this is so far looking like a good map for a financial civ that starts slowly.
that's 5 tiles that, when improved with techs I get fairly easily or start with, give me the fin bonus that are reachable without culture (fish, 2 silver, 2 ivory). Ivory is even campable before IW, so an extra bonus.
Unfortunately, none of the sheep are next to a river, so none of them get the bonus.
And that's a crap load of jungle down south. But there is a lot of land and a lot of coast - a play for collosus may be in order, do what HAK did in PB27 and make an early Oracle play (that's not spoilery, right? I mean, everyone must know that he built oracle on like turn 30. Collosus might be killer for me, though not being organized hurts.
Demos:
yes, i still suck. though, i'll move around what tile my citizen works to mess with anyone doing C&D (since it doesn't matter - it was working a grass forest - it's now working a ph sheep. I'll move it to the corn next turn.
Well, what do expect? It's very boring....

Turn 16, The One Where AT Runs From a Bear
Things are starting to get interesting. I am the score leader, because I researched 2 cheap techs
My worker is improving the corn, then will mine a PH. I'm building a workboat with a 2 hammer tile and will switch to the corn when it's improved.
There's a bear to the east and as this is base BtS, it is to be avoided at all costs. Lot's of jungle and forest here...
Later tonight, I'll do some planning - I've been taking this pretty casually so far. Met no one, haven't found all that much interesting.

Turn 25, The One Where People Can Attack
no, no one attacked. Have yet to see anyone, in fact.
Got BW.
Copper is in an ok spot.
Also, made a tentative dot map. Am debating oracle->MC->collosus. If I can get a forge in the oracle city, I'd be about 50/50 for an engineer, which would be nice. Sending the scout south. It survived a bear attack, which was surprising.
Demos:
I hope to be reporting better - the really boring part of the game is over and I'm beginning to think about it (the game) more.

Sorry for not reporting this better. I think I shall not play 2 games at once again - I tend to ignore reporting.
I screwed the pooch on this one - I managed to oracle metal casting and still not get collosus, which is amazing.
My settling was yellow, red, green (yes, I settled a wet corn spot 4th), which seems insane now that I think about it.
