Next part should be on Sunday, as usual.

oh, the error message and the actual cost of the retort are separate? Odd to see that happen when it does cost 1 pick to take....if you manage to, that is.
...
Yeah, I found it. It actually has two separate arrays with identical contents, one for the retorts that cost 2, and one for the retorts that need an error message check for costing 2.

And now I can finally start watching the video.

Also, you need to fix that keyboard.

...hmm so windwalk isn't only bugged for the player, but the AI too, well, that makes sense...I've had my windwalkers drop off my units exactly like that, too. Don't think I can do much about that but I'll at least save it in my "bugs left" list. Looks like I need to fix that outpost razing problem, too.

About the war declarations :
Those two wizards were militarist if I saw correctly. That objective declares war to anyone who has a (significantly) weaker army than themselves. Both happening on the same turn was bad luck (or that might have been the first turn when the AI actually is allowed to declare war)
Peace offers came quite soon, I suspect you were playing the version where I haven't fixed the bugs with that yet (did it one or two days ago I believe?). You should upgrade.

Wow you actually got a very rare spell for Spell Blast! It does have an excellent value modifier, so I guess that can happen.

I just downloaded it from your site and patched it right before playing, as soon as I finished I began the upload. That's as current as I can ever be.

I think I should probably finish the game I started before patching again. I don't know about MoM, but I've gotten some weird bugs when patching other games in the middle of play.

I don't know what's going on with the keyboard. It was working perfectly. I certainly used the command prompt just fine to get the game started. And it also worked just find when I quit the game. It just wouldn't work for me in CoM that day. I'll let you know if the problem persists.

Actually, I found a new bug that can still cause the AI to want peace despite my previous two bug fixes. You probably did play the latest version, and thanks to the timing not matching up I realized there is another bug. (You posted the video about 8 hours after the peace bug got fixed)
I overlooked the fact that the diplomatic variable adjustment in that procedure only runs for all wizards related to all non-player wizards for some odd reason and skips adjusting the relation towards the player....while doing the player's relations towards others properly.

Sorry about that, I thought it was still caused by the old bug but turns out it there was another one.

It seemed like computer players made spell trade offers too often. It was neat seeing them play the diplomacy game, though. Offering peace is usually good for the human player, so maybe it should happen less often. Only when a CP is really crying uncle.

The stacks were arriving damaged because they were having strategic combat with other stacks on the way.

Scouting makes a turn take forever because of enemy units moving around.

Awareness isn't that great of a spell because by the time you can cast it, your magic spirits have probably already discovered all enemy capitals. If not, then it's kind of a "clean up the map" spell. Just saves you tedious exploration time, especially chasing down those last few isolated small towns so you can banish a wizard.

Exactly. It is a new feature though, in the original game at most one unit could take damage during strategic combat, the rest either completely died or took no damage at all.

Uploaded 0.87, the peace issue should be fixed now. It's up to you if you want to upgrade now or later.

I really should finish the game I'm playing first. We'll see how far I can get on Sunday.

All right!

One thing you should know, I found a bug that can crash the game a few moments ago: If you are allied with someone, and trigger the event that makes them reward you gold for attacking a common enemy, and then try to talk to them before the turn ends and the queued event is shown, the game hangs after the greetings, because it does not seem to be coded to be able to handle events that come with an additional greeting line when the player is requesting the audience. I fixed this and it will be available in the next update, until then, you can avoid it by talking to allies only before you start attacking others they are at war with.

I'll keep that in mind.

Also I think my next game will be on an easier difficulty setting so I can better appreciate the diplomacy options.

I think the problem is mainly the personalities, too many militarists, but yes, difficulty makes it worse. I usually test on Hard, so not sure how difficult the game is now on Extreme or Impossible after all these AI improvements, but I assume it's a lot harder than in the original.
