Phishing 4

Sorry, guys, I don't know the meaning of this word. lol

By the way, fairytale could also be LAP. Because fairytales are stories you tell your children while they are sitting on your lap (am I right about the meaning of this word? My english is starting too feel increasingly fragile due to this game).

Perhaps BRick means fishing + phising (I think this word exists, not sure about the meaning). Fishing gives net + hook + worm.

Phishing is a way of scamming financial details out of people over email/the web.

So in descending order of certainty I think we're looking at NET, WORM, AMAZON and going with the homonym - fishing - HOOK.

CELL is something in a spreadsheet, but that's not enough of a link. I suppose you could SPRING someones bank details, but that seems like a stretch. If you get sold a crap car its a LEMON, but that's an entirely different form of crime.

LAP *could* be where you got told fairytales, but I'd rate it lower odds than GLASS or NEEDLE...

lol I didn't realise that fishing gives NET and WORM too...

PHISHING 4...

I think BRick is being incredibly clever. I cannot see four words that fit with the definition of phishing as I know it and defined by Old Harry. Therefore, I'm inclined to go with three words that fit with "fishing" and they could all be tied in to "phishing" also.

HOOK - A phishing email needs a 'hook' to get you to give your details. You'll get a £1million!
NET - The net. Internet.
WORM - A worm like a computer virus?

As for the fourth, I could be persuaded. It would need to be related to the word "phishing" rather than "Fishing" because otherwise he'd have chosen "fishing" as his clue. So, analysing the list looking for words that might potentially be linked to the word "phishing". Let's go through the options:

LAP: I really cannot see this being associated with either meaning of the word.
CHOCOLATE: Nope.
SPRING: I can't think of anything.
NEEDLE: Again, nothing. I also think this is our best bet for our remaining blue (from "FAIRYTALE"). If we get a clean sweep of this four (ever the optimist), I would advocate we guess this one also.
EAGLE: I can't think of anything.
LEMON: You would feel like a LEMON if you got duped. But this is so very, very weak in my opinion.
HOTEL: Again, nothing.
PASTE: The email would be copied and pasted to you... that's all I've got and it's barely anything.
MASS: Mass-emails are a thing. A thing they do when phishing. It's not a great link, but it's something.
VAN: I can't think of anything.
OIL: Nope, nothing.
CELL: As noted, maybe something to do with spreadsheets? Very weak.
MODEL: Maybe there is a certain model they use for this type of crime? My mind is trying to centre on something but can't focus. Either way, I really don't think we have anything significant here.
GLASS: Got nothing.
AMAZON: Well, there's the website and phishing emails might potentially come from them?

The clue does not need to be a strong link with the word, it just needs to associate closer with the correct words than any other. As such, I think this is a tremendous effort from BRick as I think this is a fairly easy one.

NET
HOOK
WORM
MASS

Those are my four guesses in my preferred order, but I feel rather confident about this.

I felt fairly confident last time too and was wrong, so there's that.

If Phishing is a crime, cell could also mean prison cell. I'd go with hook, net and worm first.

My spam folder gets a MASS of emails from people pretending to be companies like AMAZON who I hope end up in a CELL. Damn you Khan! Damn you Ichabod!

I'm happy with NET, HOOK and WORM. Then I'd go for NEEDLE before we pick one of MASS, CELL or AMAZON.

Sweet, glad that we successfully hit our targets at a good pace.

As an aside, could someone help me with the anti-spoiler script in a PM? I've accidentally clicked on the thread a couple of times now, so it doesn't seem to be working for me. I'm using Chrome with Tampermonkey.
